Another car question

ok, here i go
i need to sellm y car this summer cuz frankly, i keep dumping money into it and the clicks are gettin up there. Anyways, i found a couple 1990 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbos around here for sale in wicked condition with about 150,000KMS on em each. One is around $13,000 cdn and the other is $20,000 cdn. THEY ARE SO DAMN TEMPTING...BUT i'm in school and its hard to make any purchases, but DAAAYMN, this is one of my dream cars that i could make a possiblity ..and baby 400HP OOOH YEAH. eh hem, anyways. I could either TRY convince my parents to co-sign a loan for that OR just sell my car and get something for around $8000.

Also, my other option/choice would be around a 95 Eclipse AWD Turbo of course...and those go for around $12-16,000. So i need some damn opinions...i really need/wwant a new car but i'm thinkin my rents will just tell me to get something for around $6,000-8,000 because school is well, expensive...HELP ME OUT GUYS AND LADIES :D:D

MAXed Out 03-03-2004 09:49 PM

I would go for the Nissan 300ZX TT (only) but the DSM's are nice too!

Grip72 03-03-2004 10:04 PM

Grip72 03-03-2004 10:29 PM

THIS WHITE NISSAN IS $19,500

SOOOOOO DAMN NIIIIIIICE :d:d

Grip72 03-03-2004 10:35 PM

B16DoHcCrx033003 03-03-2004 10:37 PM

Get a mechanic to do a full check of the black one (compression, etc etc), and if it ends up good, SNAG that sucka!

highlander..yeah man...i gotta talk to my rents ASAP..too bad my mom is on vacatoin for 2 weeks and my dad is working WAY up north in the northwest terriotories..i KNOW they are gonna say no

IALuder 03-03-2004 10:53 PM

just boost the car and change the vin. ahahah j/k

i would also would have a mech check the car out first. i also would never take a DSM shitty transmissions and the motor are easy to blow.

Grip72 03-03-2004 10:56 PM

so u guys are more for the 300 than the eclipse eh?

the biggest thign that'll make my rents say NO is that they think if ANYTHING, i should ge ta newer car..and these cars are a year older..:|

IALuder 03-03-2004 10:58 PM

bah. tell them i want this one. then a get mech to ok the car. i would deffenetly say if a mech were to ok the car your rents will ok it to.

Grip72 03-04-2004 12:02 AM

ok.i'll check it out..thanks man

GT40FIED 03-04-2004 04:31 AM

I dunno...I don't trust a TT motor with over 100K miles (or 200K kms. You crazy Canadians and you're wacky metric system). I know people sell those things liike they're made of gold, but honestly I'm with your parents...you'd be better off with a newer car that you could build to the power levels of the 300Zs with better reliability.

ChrisCantSkate 03-04-2004 08:14 AM

i agree with GT. not only will insurance rape you, that many miles(km) on a TT engine isnt healthy. your first purchases would be new turbos.

ebpda9 03-04-2004 08:42 AM

i would look into something newer man. you wanna sell the accord because it is too old and you wanna get somethings as old ? maybe look into a dsm. i like the 300z's don't get me wrong but they are old and they will require more money than the accord.

Grip72 03-04-2004 09:06 AM

yeah i guess...i couldn't sleep last night (notice its 8am ) and i forgot about how badly insurance would rape me:no: i really don't know what to do!!! there isn't really anything i can get for $8000cdn that is as nice or has as much potentional as a 300zx. there is no way in hell i'm gonna get a civic (no offense) or sunfire or cavalier or something like that where i have to stick A TON of money into it to make it look decent and respectably fast. I'M FREAKIN OUT MAN....id unno wtf to do

IALuder 03-04-2004 11:49 AM

why not buy a H22a Prelude or a NSX.

Grip72 03-04-2004 01:00 PM

nsx..those are like 40k...gees haha

IALuder 03-04-2004 02:35 PM

buy a wrecked one and fix it.

thats a viable option. they are decently quick out of the box, and a nice car as far as ride comfort and drivablility. if you like the looks and arnt set on rwd, these are a nice option. insurance isnt as bad as a v8 sports car, and since your in college a reliable honda that can run mid to low 14's with very basic bolt ons might be what your looking for
