Advice on 300zx

Ok, i found 2, yes 2 Nissan 300zx's in the paper and here is the descriptions on them:

-1990 Nissan 300ZX, red, black leather, power seats, t-tops, fully loaded, CD player, 2+2 (twin turbo i do believe) a/c, 135,000kms for $9,800CDN..
the only problem is it's an automatic
OR

-1990 Nissan 300ZX, dark blue, auto, 2+2, t-tops, fully loaded, CD, am/fm, a/c, must sell, 167,000kms for $8,400CDN

i am really really relaly interested in either of there cars but i don't know much about 300zx's and if i should get an auto

PLEASE GIMME ANY ADVICE/INFO YA CAN

id check both of them out to see how clean they are, then make a decision off of there; I love the z32s, very nice cars. Autos are ok, although not as much fun as a manual;)

i wouldnt get an auto, also i'd call and ask if either are turbo, if they both arent then theres no point in debating on which one to get.

Grip72 02-02-2004 06:19 PM

well doesn't 2+2 mean they are twin turbo???

No.

Grip72 02-02-2004 06:28 PM

what does it mean??

Wren57 02-02-2004 06:34 PM

2+2 means there are two bucket seats in front, and two seats in the back...

Grip72 02-02-2004 06:38 PM

haha.i'm so dumb

GT40FIED 02-02-2004 07:02 PM

I'm willing to bet they're both N/A cars. Being a TT 300ZX would be a big selling point for those cars and definitely worth mentioning. Besides...people charge out the ass for the TT versions. As far as the tranny...I'm married to my automatic. It's just less work in the city, it can handle more power with fewer mods, and it's more consistent when racing (unless you're a really good driver)...but it's all about personal preference.

Grip72 02-02-2004 07:16 PM

yeah..i htink i'll hold off..its very WEIRD that they are both so cheap..most used 300ZX's are over 10,000. more in the mid 20's range

I just had a friend that sold a 1992 300zx with 114k miles on it. Exterior was moded to the bone, but it was an auto and he let it go for 7g's USD.
I wouldn't get it if it wasn't a TT and manual.

Grip72 02-02-2004 07:33 PM

yeah iknow...i guess i'll forget it..

ChrisCantSkate 02-02-2004 07:34 PM

the twin turbos are the expensive ones, those im willing to bet are both N/As cause that sounds about right for pricing a n/a auto 300zx thats 14 years old. as far as auto goes.... from my personal experience with 2 friends owning auto z32s, one went through 1 tranny and is having problems with the second one, and the other had problems with his once. ive herd from a few other people online that have also had problems with the autos... although they could be unique problems, its something to check out.

pbateson 02-02-2004 07:36 PM

300zx on maunal is rare

pbateson 02-02-2004 07:40 PM

Kyle, why you want maunal?

94_AcCoRd_EX 02-02-2004 07:44 PM

For that old of a 300zx, auto, N/A, those prices sound about right. Nothing to go crazy for.

Grip72 02-02-2004 08:18 PM

cuz manual is way better and a hell of a lot funner than auto

and thanks chris

esthirteen 02-03-2004 06:23 PM

Id say neither one, because they are both auto. From now on, until I turn 70, I'm against buying an auto.

vtracer20 02-03-2004 11:52 PM

if there not turbo then dont waste ur time.....dont get them either near 100k miles. i heard their turbo's start to crap out around that mileage

GT40FIED 02-04-2004 12:35 AM

I believe he measured their mileage in Kms...so multiply the mileage by 0.52 to get the numbers in miles.

drdingo21 02-04-2004 07:32 AM

why not hit e-bay, and take a road trip

vtracer20 02-04-2004 06:07 PM

yeah i think you'll find some well priced twin T's on ebay. just remeber low milage

94_AcCoRd_EX 02-04-2004 06:13 PM

I'd never buy a car off of Ebay without driving it first. Seems like you're just asking for trouble.

Grip72 02-04-2004 06:57 PM

yeah..i'd definatley check it out before purchasing
