Don't really know at this point. I'm still in shock from it all. One quick second and now I'm without a car. I don't really even know what to do at this point.

pimpinprelude 02-02-2004 07:04 PM

jeeeezz....

tryin to drift?????

pbateson 02-02-2004 07:27 PM

Buy a new car man!

ebpda9 02-02-2004 08:06 PM

holly shit, that was some shock that got the rear cross beam to break. were those some cheap rotors on the car ? looking at them it seems they were.

IALuder 02-02-2004 09:06 PM

damn. im still w/o a car from accident. becuase insurance companys are ghey and take forever.

it sucks i know the shock your in.

blind34_1 02-02-2004 11:58 PM

i don't know but that looks like a failed attempt at drifting...

well it could've been worse. It looks like you only have damage on one side, right? You're most expensive rep[lacement will likely be both wheels. You'll need new tires, definatly. You'll have to look at the brakes on both ends to make sure nothing more than the rotors were destroyed. I can't tell from that picture, but It looks like you'll also need another trailing arm...no wait, no you'll just need someone who's a decent welder.

Well, now you have to make a decision. Garage that one and buy a rust bucket, or buy a newer and/or better car and sell your current one/part it out. I'd say if you've got a little cash, and a garage, then try to fix it.

MAXed Out 02-03-2004 08:45 AM

Damn bro that sux. What exactly were u doing?

ShagginJet 02-03-2004 11:25 AM

^^ Was going around a light turn at roughly 50-60. the turn became ert shape very quick, tried to hold on to it but lost it. Nailed a big old curb and that's that. I think I'm just going to start riding my motorcycle again, wait a couple months and then I'll decide what i want to do with it. Collision work is soooo expensive.

MAXed Out 02-03-2004 04:23 PM

Damn that really sux. It's fixable but just need the thing welded back on.

Accord Man 02-03-2004 09:34 PM

It probably isnt worth fixing.. Consider getting the inssurance money and getting another car.

ebpda9 02-03-2004 09:44 PM

did u have that buckle in the left qp before ? if not that is a sure sigh of frame damage

ChrisCantSkate 02-04-2004 03:03 AM

that looks like it would cost more to repair than buy a mid 90's civic

ShagginJet 02-04-2004 10:12 AM

No, that buckle wasn't there before.

unless you hit a pole, but if that came only from the curb, not hitting anything else you will have big problems

ShagginJet 02-04-2004 10:45 AM

^^ Yeah. I nailed the curb, the tire was the first thing to hit. So all the impact was forced onto the rear tire and rim, then the front hit, car jumped up a couple feet and then came back down. I just realized that i'm lucky as f*ck that the car didn't flip. I'm going to take it apart this weekend and see how bad it really is.

blind34_1 02-04-2004 03:27 PM

yep, its sad but you might just want to take all your performance parts off, and part out the rest of the car. Start looking for a replacement (same gen?), unless you think you can magically fix all of that. Remember, a fourth gen hatch can be around $1000 to $2500.

vtracer20 02-04-2004 06:03 PM

holly crap that sucks soo much.....damn that was a hard hit.....

MAXed Out 02-05-2004 08:28 AM

I think you should take it apart then see what is wrong and ****ed up with it but i think it's a lot more then it looks.

ShagginJet 02-05-2004 10:22 AM

^^Yea, I'm going to strip it down this weekend, see what's broken, make a parts list and start adding things up. I can fix everything myself except the needed welding.

thermal 02-06-2004 02:25 AM

This is just too bad man. I like your car. I dont think it'll be worth fixin tho......

ShagginJet 02-08-2004 06:37 PM

I'm still not sure what's wrong with the front. I looked at it today and didn't really see anything that looked bent. I'll investigate futher after i fix the back. I still have my drum brake setup from when I did the rear swap. Going to put that back on, back to the factory rims, and just sell it.

Anyone have a rough idea what it'd cost to weld that?

Thank god for the rear lower strut bar and rear sway bar, otherwise I'm pretty sure that lower mout would have been ripped right off.

4drmadness 02-08-2004 09:52 PM

WOW ;( ;( ;(

That just sucks.....sorry to see/hear that....

slugworth45 02-10-2004 11:08 PM

OUCH...!!!

BlvdKing 02-15-2004 11:41 PM

That really sucks bro.;(

If it buckled the quarter you have alot of unseen damage. You should just part it out and get another one.

KwikR6 02-18-2004 02:28 PM

I think all you can do now is just light your car on fire!

ShagginJet 02-18-2004 05:37 PM

^^ entertaining the thought of parting it out. Should I sell everything (doors, engine, seats, etc..)? What would I do with the body once I was done?

ebpda9 02-18-2004 07:48 PM

sell it for scrap metal
