Hello Guys How Are YOu All Doing ? Well my question is, how do I know if my car is EX or DX. Is a 1995 Honda Civic 1.6Vtec Sohc. Can any one help me up? I really need to know if is EX or Dx :D
By the Way here is a pic of it. the reason I dont know if is DX or EX. is because I dont have the manual

Look at the stamp on the engine block.

These are the codes on the EX:
D16Y8 Honda Civic EX 1996-2000
D16Z6 Honda Civic EX/Si /Del Sol Si 1992-1995

HXs have power windows and doors... aren't EXs and Si's the only civics with a sunroof/moonroof?

IALuder 12-04-2003 10:16 PM

yes, besides hatch back models.

95DX 12-05-2003 01:06 AM

dx is full manual ie no power options, lx all power options but no sunroof, ex same as lx except does have sunroof from what I have figured out as to which engines come with what Im not sure

IALuder 12-05-2003 08:42 AM

mylittlecivic 12-11-2003 01:24 AM

mine doesnt even have power steering:o

idontdriveauto 12-11-2003 08:00 PM

my 97 civic lx had power everything and had the code d16y8, but it was not a v-tec motor. just Sohc, it was made in japan, if that matters on engine code.... did all the ex models have that code from 96-2000?

Anotherslo1 12-11-2003 10:00 PM

SUNROOF !!!!!!! SUNROOF !!!!!! EX and SI are the only Civics with a SUNROOF !!!! ;)

pdiggitydogg 12-11-2003 10:49 PM

lx was optional
(and technically...its a moonroof ;) )

Japanese motors dont have the last #
and unless the previous owner slapped a y8 engine or head on there (mini-me) thats not possible...ex did come in sedans...

IALuder 12-12-2003 08:41 AM

yea they did. i still havent seen a 92-93 EX 4 door. i seen people driving 95 4 door EXs.
