me vs. civic at the track

Last week I took my car to the track to see how it is running. Just as I was pulling up to stage this kid pulls up next to me in a 4 door civic. He looks over and asks if I want to run him. I looked over thinking thats why I came here right. So he starts bragging about his car saying how fast it is and even says that he will probably beat me anyway, I guess he thought my car was stock. I just laughed at him and pulled up to the line. If he had asked I would have told him about heavily modded Integra R engine under the hood. So he ran a 15.8, and I ran 14.02. He didnt have too much to say after that.

If it's a heavy modded b18c5 engine (I think that's the code), shouldn't you get a bit better times in the civic. Ithought Type R tegs go high 14's stock?

Hondaracing@TP 08-27-2003 12:09 AM

It usually runs better times, but track conditions were pretty bad and it was well over 100 degrees

i was about to say...14.2? a friend of mine ran a best of 12.9 in his civic hatch with a b18c5....

isn't 15.8 pretty good for a civic?

Civickid0to60 08-27-2003 05:17 PM

15.8 is decent for a civic yes, But it shouldnt matter, if your car is heavily modded it should run low 13's. A friend of mine has 98 civic with a b18c5 heavily modded and ran a 13.2.

Civickid0to60 08-27-2003 05:18 PM

you might wanna look into seeing if there is a problem. Or maybe your right it was track conditions(didnt read that). But hey, at least you won! good kill.

Hondaracing@TP 08-27-2003 05:42 PM

Well like I said track conditions were pretty bad, even the all wheel drive cars were having problems hooking up. Those are pretty good times

what is it with these lam3rs all of a sudden lurking on our board?

pdiggitydogg 09-02-2003 07:08 PM

happens every once in a while...time to time...the people with no maturity to speak of, decide its cool to go and find honda boards, only to bash their rides and talk about how cool their toyota/vw/dsm/domestic is (nissan & subaru drivers tend to be good people). Usually its just some punk-ass kids or po-dunk hillbillies...nothing to worry about (and actually...all the useres tend to be the same person and they continue to hang around until the IP is blocked)

What did the cocky kid with the civic have under the hood? was it an Si with just intake headers exhaust?

ef9civic 09-08-2003 11:16 AM

this is a bit off topic but Civickid0to60 is your probe pretty fast? what's the 1/4 time on it?? just curious.

and I think his civic must of had somthing done because I had I/H/E clutch/flywheel and 55 zex nitrous setup and ran a 15.6 so he didn't run to bad if that track condictions were shitty.

smokencivic 09-28-2003 03:58 AM

WERE U RUNNIN SLICKS OR CHEATERS WHAT KIND OF TIRES?

Civickid0to60 09-28-2003 11:10 AM

ef9, i havent been able to get up to the track yet, because I have been busy trying to get my supercharger to run the way i want it. But if I were to guess, I would say that I can run a mid to high 13.

that sounds a little off for a b18c5 in a civic but good kill.
