i can't decide whether i like em or not... i thought they might look cool on my black car... the thing that threw me is it says 96-00 when parts are normally seperated into 96-98 and 99-00... does this not apply for taillights?

mylittlecivic 07-14-2003 04:30 AM

they look kinda fake:o

thermal 07-14-2003 04:55 AM

Sorry man, I dont like it. It does look kind of fake. It looks like all they did was use a glass spray paint, IMO.

pauls-si 07-14-2003 06:39 AM

I give them two thumbs down......

h0udini-2k7 07-14-2003 08:27 AM

well if they weren't so black they might look ok.
i've seen the smoked out ones and they look pretty good!

SeoulJaGirl 07-14-2003 08:52 AM

i'm glad someone can work adobe photoshop for some of those pics :D they don't look right. are those even legal to install?

wheresmylicense 07-15-2003 01:38 AM

's kinda what i was thinkin... i did find a pic of some tinted OEM tails on a black car... looks pretty good, i'm guna go down tomorrow to see how much they charge... or if they'll even do it...

ebpda9 07-15-2003 02:05 AM

those look sooo out of place.

wheresmylicense 07-15-2003 03:08 AM

pauls-si 07-15-2003 06:25 AM

andy_reynold28 07-15-2003 08:25 AM

JamieS697 07-15-2003 11:59 AM

pdiggitydogg 07-15-2003 12:41 PM

^you mean ass looking right?

too dark imo...lighter would have been ok

do it yourself...get some tint paint @ a hobby shop and have at it
Clear coat afterword

wheresmylicense 07-15-2003 04:02 PM

can you just paint right over the top of the light?

autocrossthugg 07-15-2003 06:19 PM

I'm glad that you guys like the look of my tinted tails on my civic. I had them done in Santa Cruz, CA. by a shop called Volks Cafe. I don't remember how much they charged me(i had it done a couple of years ago). Although I think it is just some spray on tint from an auto parts place. I would think that they also had to skuff the surface first.

wheresmylicense 07-15-2003 06:35 PM

thanks for givin me a great idea for my tails, dude.

wheresmylicense 07-15-2003 06:58 PM

another way to go is i could buy smoked taillight covers... has anyone done this? does it look tacky? any opinions...?

autocrossthugg 07-16-2003 11:27 AM

I looked at the smoked tail light covers also, but I did not like the fact that they were stuck on with double sided tape, and did not look flush with the body. Good luck with your mods.

dasica 07-16-2003 11:41 AM

I didn't like the first ones at all it looked like someone took electrical tape to that half. I'm not too much of a fan of tinted lights. I use to work in a parts store, and that's like the first and only mod all the dad's got (Including mine  )

 Yours is way better......

For those of you who wants to try it yourself, www.homemadeturbo.com has a procedure under their archives with pics. The computer that I'm on right now will not let me open their site, otherwise I would post the direct link. The project is done on a CRX but it really doesnt matter. U just have have the right materials.

autocrossthugg 07-16-2003 01:14 PM

^^---^^ Thanks, I'm glad you like.

I'm always nice bro

thermal 07-17-2003 08:05 PM

here's a link to do your own "smoked" tails and like I said, it's on a CRX. But all you really need is the materials used:

Just to let you all know I tried the how to from this site and it worked great but after about 8 months it has started to fade so now I have to try and respray them.
