whadya guys think about these tails
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tegory=33 716
i can't decide whether i like em or not... i thought they might look cool on my black car... the thing that threw me is it says 96-00 when parts are normally seperated into 96-98 and 99-00... does this not apply for taillights? |
they look kinda fake:o
Sorry man, I dont like it. It does look kind of fake. It looks like all they did was use a glass spray paint, IMO.
I give them two thumbs down......
well if they weren't so black they might look ok.
i've seen the smoked out ones and they look pretty good! |
i'm glad someone can work adobe photoshop for some of those pics :D they don't look right. are those even legal to install?
's kinda what i was thinkin... i did find a pic of some tinted OEM tails on a black car... looks pretty good, i'm guna go down tomorrow to see how much they charge... or if they'll even do it...
those look sooo out of place.
what about this:
^ that's much better....
how about tinted bottom half and clear top half. lol
first ones are pretty wierd looking:yes:
^you mean ass looking right?
too dark imo...lighter would have been ok do it yourself...get some tint paint @ a hobby shop and have at it Clear coat afterword |
can you just paint right over the top of the light?
I'm glad that you guys like the look of my tinted tails on my civic. I had them done in Santa Cruz, CA. by a shop called Volks Cafe. I don't remember how much they charged me(i had it done a couple of years ago). Although I think it is just some spray on tint from an auto parts place. I would think that they also had to skuff the surface first.
thanks for givin me a great idea for my tails, dude.
another way to go is i could buy smoked taillight covers... has anyone done this? does it look tacky? any opinions...?
I looked at the smoked tail light covers also, but I did not like the fact that they were stuck on with double sided tape, and did not look flush with the body. Good luck with your mods.
I didn't like the first ones at all it looked like someone took electrical tape to that half. I'm not too much of a fan of tinted lights. I use to work in a parts store, and that's like the first and only mod all the dad's got (Including mine  )

 Yours is way better...... For those of you who wants to try it yourself, www.homemadeturbo.com has a procedure under their archives with pics. The computer that I'm on right now will not let me open their site, otherwise I would post the direct link. The project is done on a CRX but it really doesnt matter. U just have have the right materials. |
^^---^^ Thanks, I'm glad you like.

here's a link to do your own "smoked" tails and like I said, it's on a CRX. But all you really need is the materials used:

Just to let you all know I tried the how to from this site and it worked great but after about 8 months it has started to fade so now I have to try and respray them.
