air conditioning
my a/c is out i was wondering if they charge alot to get it fixed??? does anyone know? thanks
|
depends on what it is. If you need a new compressor your looking at about 1k$. so it can get pretty damn expensive.
|
Man! $1000 for new compresser. So expersive! :paranoid:
Hmm.... Go to the store and fix the compresser. |
it really depends on what is messed up. you might have just a leak, you might have a broken condenser. go have a diagnistic done, then pick the parts at a junkyard for dirt cheap, and have your cousin install whatever is broken for you
|
you could just need a re-charge... there's freon in there that is what actully cools the air so you could be out of it...
course re-charges aren't cheap either... |
if its a recharge, you can do that yourself for less than $50

heh that's the r134a system and the older cars have a r12 system which needs to be retrofited to work with the r134a coolant, or you could blow things up. |
It's better to have the experts do what ever needs to be done on a few things, a/c included. Too much to easily go wrong and too much $$ if you mess something up, if they f**k it up, it's on them.

1K$ installed yeah. Sorry i dont buy used AC parts. |
saying that your "ac is out" doesnt explain very much......so there could be about 3098475398475 things wrong with it.
take it to a mechanic and have it looked at. :) |
Have someone PROFESSIONAL look at it for the $60 bucks or whatever... all AC work is pretty dman easy. Find the problem and decide from there.
|
maybe you dont have AC, now that'd be funny.
|
see someone who knows what they are doing is all i can say also about the recharging if its cheaper to sometimes you can get a home aircondition person to recharge it if they have the tools
|
remove the a/c so y our car is lighter and increase hp..

|

i dint see that |
i wouldnt dream of taking out ac...michigan sucks in the summer...humid as f*ck...although I rarely use the ac anyways...
|
same here....its not like my car is an all-out race car...
nekcuttR you makin' fun of my post? |
nooooo way i dont care id rather have a/c! windows dont help much they just blow my hair everywhere. Today I asked my brother and he said that there was a leak in the a/c so i need to get that cleaned out patched up then more freon added:hmmm:
|
heh...my dads a/c just went out on his dodge ram (:pukey ) and he looked at the wires under the hood and they were all chewed to pieces and shit....it was a damned chipmunk!!!

naw thought it was funny as hel |
after reviewing my Helms manual and finding the price of a new compressor. I got ripped. I took it to the dealer so i expected it. But damn. I could have done it(replaced my compressor) for like at most $500. $313 for new compressor + paying for a new belt and other little things + paying to have it evacuated and recharged. Oh well i had the work done back when I knew nothing about cars.
Please learn from my mistake. Buy a helms manual and never pay someone to work on your car! |
