Red light on blinker?

I saw sage '96 Accord LX with a red light on the blinker.

Im struggling with you Paul. Is there a question here?

msvtec14 06-16-2003 01:15 PM

Aren't they normally yellow where the blinker is? At least I know they are in the front. Hmmmm. I don't have front blinkers anymore but I still have the stock ones at home. Isn't the rear yellow too?

Racing Rice 06-16-2003 01:17 PM

Yeah, they are usually yellow. :o

But you can replace them with red bulbs. Ive seen green ones, blue ones, you name it.. They probably arent really legal though.

msvtec14 06-16-2003 01:32 PM

Yeah, I'm not really too sure of the law but I know it's something like you can't have those other colors as they're for emergency
vehicle use or something to that extent.

DJWURM 06-16-2003 02:17 PM

illegal and stupid.....

pdiggitydogg 06-16-2003 02:26 PM

no you can have red turn signals...look at the 2k1 and up hondas

blind34_1 06-16-2003 02:29 PM

umm...i'm 99.9% sure that turn signals can only be red on the REAR taillights. For the front they must be yellow, amber, maybe white. if they were red in front that could be considered reserved for emergency vehicles (flashing red).

Stay legal, its a lot easier on your wallet. focus on the things that matter.

msvtec14 06-16-2003 03:18 PM

I've got tails housed in carbon fiber and it's all clear where the blinker is so I had to get the white (Xenon) bulbs or it would have looked stupid.

I think thats the case.. Rears can be red, but your fronts have to be amber.

msvtec14 06-17-2003 08:51 AM

You know how some people have the strobes? Those scare the SHIT out of me. I always think it's the PoPo.

Accord Man 06-17-2003 08:58 AM

Front = yellow (or any shade of yellow..)
Rear = yellow or red.

Or yellow.

Yellow only in the front. Technically white turn signals in the front are illegal, but only a ricer would get ticketed for it. :)

Personally, I think that Yellow ought to be the ONLY color allowed for front AND rear. I absolutely HATE red turn signals on the rear. They suck, they're less safe.

i agree that rear turn signals SHOULD be yellow because when people have one side rear brake light out and they brake on and off, it sometimes looks like they are signalling. I talked to the local "vehilce inspector" dude here in my town. It was awhile ago but i think he said, red and yellow and amber for rear lights. White and amber for front lights. I THINK.

Rage237 06-17-2003 12:14 PM

it is leagle to run reds in the front

like said above the 2k1 and up civics have red fronts

you cant have blue or green
any other color is "technicly" leagle
if you are ever unsure about the laws look up the revised code of "your state"

Rage237 06-17-2003 12:27 PM

ok i was wrong
here is the RCW for my state
http://www.leg.wa.gov/RCW/index.cfm?...tion=46.37.200
hope this works

Civickid0to60 06-17-2003 12:36 PM
