i'm going to japan for the summer and i'm making lists of stuff to buy for my car. and i want a cd/md player instead of the boring american cd players...

sure they'll fit...as long as its single din sized.

but all text would be in japanese...so unless you speak/read it well...it would be "shibutsu" (useless) But you could play with it for hours and figure it out i suppose...or get a japanese friend too

aha, i am half japanese...speak fluently.

single din...

so those cd/md players with bigger screens won't fit?

such as this?

btw, that's the actual size...i put a md up to my screen and it fits perfectly.

there's 2 openings for my car...

the top box is where my current cd player sits...

and there's another box right underneath it, which just sits there...

???

pdiggitydogg 06-16-2003 05:37 PM

oh yeah thats right..i forgot you spoke it

im not sure if it would fit or not if you removed the little opening...it might only be 1.5 din...even still it wont fit

But, if you get a japanese CD player, that means all your CD's will be in Japanese... lol j/k's.

And I think that it would fit, but you might have to fabricate your own brackets.

maikoshi 06-16-2003 08:53 PM

I can speak japanese but I can't really write/read it. :paranoid: Totally off topic.

Duckydos 06-16-2003 11:18 PM

Since we're off topic anyway. I used to live in Japan :D member, what are of Japan are you going to?

member 06-16-2003 11:24 PM

saitama...

40 minutes away from the famous shutokohsoku(the highway in tokyo extreme racer).

basically next to tokyo...

nonovurbizniz 06-17-2003 12:38 PM

you are aware they sell VERY similar models here right?

member 06-17-2003 12:46 PM

but i'd have to go out-of-state or to seattle just to find them...

there aren't any around here.

and i'm going to japan anyways so why not look while i'm there?

nonovurbizniz 06-17-2003 12:55 PM

^because your text will be in japanesse as well as possibly the buttons...

have you ever heard of "crutchfield"... they sell ALL sorts of stereo equipment... and they will even MAIL it to you...

*edit* oh and you will NEVER find the best price on the EXACT model you want window shopping in a foriegn country... your best bet is to find out EXACTLY which headunit you want... then if it'll fit... then where sells it for the cheapest.. preferably with english text.*/edit*

the texts won't matter because i can read nihongo...

i'll have to look into that.
