heel-toe is easier described than actually done and doing it on the street really doesn't let you experience what it was created for in the first place. It is a very handy habit when on the track though. It has taken me a month or so just to get the feel for it, and I haven't even tried it at full speed yet. This weekend will be my first test.

I have sort of big feet, and for some reason, I find heel-toe very hard to execute. Does anyone else have problems? It just feels like a very awkward position to me.

Accord Man 12-06-2001 08:17 AM

LOL

well it is awkward.. but I guess thats the price you gotta pay..

urbanlegend21 12-07-2001 10:34 AM

i have small feet and it is still awkward.... it is going to be that way until it becomes a natural habit. Some of your better race driving books will give a better explanation with pics. I started by just releasing the brake and blipping the throttle then getting back on the crakes to get a feel for what kind of gas pedal pressure needs to be applied for proper rev matching.

Yeah, I would have, but my grandfather gave me a 77 chevy pickup auto when I was 16, so I didn't have a choice. After that, my GTi and accord are/were both stick.
