it shouldn't take that long. it took about 2 hrs on my car but i had something bent, but on my brother's teg i did it in less than 30 minutes

I put my CAI on within 15minutes, and most of that time was spent looking for the right tools :D It's pretty easy, all you really have to do is remove the old intake assembly, take off your bumper, and connect the peices like Lego's...
Just curious, did you get the water-bypass valve?

Very easy install. If you got the BPV and its a one piece intake, you'll need to slice and dice :o

why what about the water-bypass valve?

screw the bypass valve just don't drive through 2ft puddles or try to ford any rivers...

the end of the pipe (intake pipe) needs to be FULLY submerged ie the entire circumfrance of the tube in order to suck up water and even then usually the pressure increase from sucking water instead of air will stall the car before you can even suck any up...

If you do go through a deep puddle just shut off the car or push in the clutch... the added force needed to suck up water instead of air just isn't there at idle.

AVOID DEEP PUDDLES THOUGH.

It's not that hard... they have to be REALLY deep.

And leave your inner fender in!:o
