Gas on your car?
What kinda of gas u use?
I use Supreme or Plus for my car to refill the full tank at gas station. But my mum say to me to use Reg. or Plus. The Supreme is only for the big engine and very expersive car. Do you think Supreme make the car go faster? What about Plus or Reg.? |
The rating tells you how much octane the gas has. Octanet is a detergent that cleans your injectors. It all depends what you can afford. If you are looking for speed, Gas quality is not going to give you a boost in HP.

91 octane - it will keep your engine cleaner (on the inside) because it burns hotter than the reg (I know you have to use it in the b16 and probably the other B's

higher octane than required won't make your car go faster at all, or increase your mpg. on contrary the higher octane on a unmoded honda will burn faster, decreased performance and bad mpg.

The octane number of a gasoline is a measure of its resistance to knocking. Gasolines with high octane numbers burn more smoothly and are thus more effective fuels. The more highly branched alkanes (carbon and hydrogen compounds) have higher octane numbers than straight chaine alkanes. The octane number of gasoline is obtained by comparing its knocking characteristics with those of "isooctane" (2,2,4-trimethylpentane) and heptaine. Isooctane is assigned an octane number of 100, and heptane is assigned 0. Gasoline with the same knocking characteristics as a mix of 90% isooctane and 10% heptane is rated as 90 octane.
Octane levels are improved by adding antiknock agents. That is one of the few things I remember from two semesters of chem in college, one of those classes I don't wish upon anybody. Ultimately though, unless your engine requires the higher octane fuel, you aren't really doing anything other than burning your money. Your engine gets optimal mileage at whatever the book recommends (most likely regular). |

i use the 87 (shittiest) simply because I could hardly care less about my car right now. *selling it*

i thought it really doesn't matter anymore?
if i remember right, it USE to be different back in the day, but now it's all the same(or close). the cheapest one was the shittiest, the middle one was the normal one, and the highest one was the best one. but now, there's good gas(??) in all of them, so... the cheapest(87) is like the highest one back in the day, then the middle one(9?) is a little better than the cheap one, but don't really need it, and then the highest one is the best, but also there's no need for it. ??? |

On stock honda motors what you use doesnt really make a difference. If you want to waste your money on the high dollar stuff then go ahead.. No it doesnt increase performance, no it doesnt increase gas mileage, for a stock honda motor it doesnt do much of anything. Unless your Honda requires premium, just run the cheap stuff. Hondas are efficient econo-boxes. :yes:

B16s do say to use premium. Aren't I lucky? It's about $1.65/gal right now around here. Oh well.
