Warning Aquasonic Damage!!!!

I took my car into Aquasonic of Norht Olmsted, supposedly a 'brushless' car wash, on Saturday. It is supposed to be the best carwash around. WRONG!!! When I got home I saw that it had damaged from my wheelwell around tthe back bumper. It was a gouge that actually ook off paint in some places. The blkue fiber from the machine was still embedded in the paint! So, I called them and they said to come up...I was already on the way and called from the car. Well, the owner said that it was not his machine that did that. He said his machine does travel that path but if it was his machine then it would have done the entire side. I told him that clearly there was no way anyone could do this by hitting the car or backing into the car since it followed the contour of the car perfectly. Basically I would have had to to take some device (a screwdriver couldn't have even done it since it would have been too deep) and do that myself. I told hime the car was 2 weeks old and there was no way this happened since I check the car EVERY time before I drive it (this is true and my girlfriend think is a bit strange since dings don't bother her). Not only that, but I park so that I see the rear end when I am walking up to it. He said to contact the insurance company and they would have to 'go to bat for me'. So I called them on the way back home and talked to the after hours people and will speak with my agent today. What are my chances of winning this thing? This is absolutely nuts!!!

Thanks!!

Also, STAY AWAY from AQUASONIC of North Olmsted!!!!!

GET PHOTOS

Take some of the machine from about any angle & some of the damage to your car. If the insurance company doesn't help , you may need to take it to court.

damn that sucks. where is aquasonic at ?

kg729 04-21-2003 07:31 AM

It is on Lorain a little west of North Olmsted. I thought it was the safest place to get my car washed but I guess not. It is supposed to be brushless yet I found brush fibers in the paint!!! Please stay away!! Wash it yourself if you can.

that's what i'm doing. my car is way too low to get into any carwash. ;), and yeah take it to court if no one wants to help you out

You'll probobly lose carwashes all have a disclaimer right out front that says... not responsivle for damage.

it's cuz they cant guarantee that the machine won't domaage SOME parts of SOME cars.

If it turns out that the machine was not serviced properly or it was somehow THEIR fault then maybe but not likely.

get some estimates for repair and talk to the guy straigt... be like Look man even if I'm wrong your going to spend more money defending this case then you would paying for all or half of the repair... I'm NOT trying to screw you or pretend your machine did something it didn't I just want my car back to the way it was when I pulled on your lot.

good luck

Why trust someone else to wash your car in the first place?

Besides, it's a good excuse to do nothing else for a couple hours.

Ouch. I'm really sorry man! That sucks. Hope you win this one. What kinda car do you drive?
