» My Custom Angel Eyes :) Pics!!
1 Attachment(s)
This was a project I did in January but haven't really posted about anywhere. This was a pretty cheap project even though I melted one fog light in the oven and had to buy a replacement
There are how-to's for Civics and CRX's out there but I think this was a lot easier because the fogs were already round so it was really easy to mold the plastic rod to the inside of the fog light. I get mixed reactions about the angel eyes, some people say they're rice and others think they are cool. Whatever, I liked doing the project and I learned a lot from it. That's all that matters right? Hehe.. Just thought I would share it with you guys since it's kind of a custom thing and HS is all about sharing..or something..yeah. Here are a couple pics of the finished product, the LED's I used were the "white" ones, even though they look blue. |

hey, How did you get those corner lights so white?!?
I've tried but always get brownish! Can you send me how you did this I'd really like to do that! My email is Karenblu@earthlink.net Thanks adb23 |
If you'd like, you could post a step-by-step in the step-by-step forum so others could follow what you did :)
|
I think it looks good!
|
I know I could post a step-by-step but then everyone would have them! as far as I know I'm the only one with them.. hehe I know I'm a selfish brat but I like being unique ;)

The corner lights aren't that white, they do look kind of dull compared to the headlights. I recently switched back to the stock amber bulbs. The ones in the pictures were the Polarg B1 Hybrid bulbs that I bought at a place called Audio Works/Performance Lab here in Kirkland. They were $11.95. |
they are no hard, and there was a wrtie up a couple of months ago on how to do them, ill see if i can find a link
|
It wasn't hard at all, and the how-to I followed was the CRX one so it took some adapting on how to wire the LED's and just some of the basic steps.
I ended up cutting the stock plug completely off the factory bulbs and just wiring the plug to the LED's. I figure it will still be possible to go back if I ever want to. Thanks for all the comments guys! |
looks good.
|
Don't worry you won't be the only one with them.
I know of a step by step. (but I won't post it because you don't want it posted. ;) It's been done. But I still think it's great and looks Hella tight on your car.;) |
Hehe I know...you can post it if you'd like. I just like being unique in my area because everyone here puts altezza's, huge wings and shogun kits on their Sol's and I wanted to be different.
I'm glad you guys like them though. It makes all the hard work worth it, and knowing the fact that I learned so much from doing it myself. If you have any other questions I would be happy to answer them  |
if you want some info on the corners i think he just broke the lil orange plastic inside the lens push the orange plasic then brake it with 2 neddle nose pliers and then youll get white light and for step by step go visit www.teamdelsol.com:yes:
|
That's where the angle eye how to is also.
|
just get PIAA extreme white bulbs thats what my friend did.
|
I think it looks cool! Ive always thought del sols would look good with angel eyes, now I know I was right!
|
you do some amazing work, ever considered a career(or at least side job in auto customizing?? they look great :)
i thought about putting them in my fogs but one guy did it and it just doens't fit the car at all. Jeremy p.s.: Great work  |
Yea actually I wanted to go into custom body work and I did a little at my friend's shop but now with school I don't have time to go down there anymore. Hopefully I will be able to this summer. Also, my parents don't really support the whole car thing. They aren't against it but my mom wants me to go into business admin and then she says I could open my own shop if that's what I really want to do. But thanks for the compliment, like I said earlier I love doing all the custom work myself because I really learn a lot about my car and how it's put together.
|
anytime you want practice give me a ring :) i'll let ya do mine for me, i can turn wrenches and get the power out of em, not sure i want to mess with the body work just yet. time to open my own lil side job shop. any plans to visit chicago?? ;)
still very impressive work. jeremy |
nice job..looks good:yes:
|
UPDATE: my friend with a sol tried to do this project on the spur of the moment and he also melted his fog :( sad for him...heheh
that's why you need planning and an extra set of hands to help you hold something or watch the oven while you do something else. |

true that....goes back to me saying 1000 times to people. Take your FVcking time. |
yea and you also need to know what you're doing..it ended up costing him more than it was supposed to, but at least he "learned something new"...hahah!
|
I guess you could look at it that way.
|
What about to buy a angel's eye headlight? It look like a BMW car.
|
They don't make them for the del sol.
