DIY ice box

Bored on Easter morning, waiting to go to dinner/lunch, I was doin some research on the Comptech Ice Box, when I came across this little tid-bit.
--
Its a diy ice box for 'tegs (But could easily be done on anything). no more worries about hydrolock w/ standard cai's.

DIY Ice Box

Looks like a piece o' cake job and could easily be done in less than 1 day.

So, if youve still got a stock intake, try this out...just get a k&n filter so the flow is better)

Yeah, lots of people probably already know about this, but I figured I'd share anyway.
(I posted in here because it gets the most traffic...)

same piping that carries my shit to the sewer

that piping is NOT safe for use in engine bays... the pvc vaporizes inside the tube and it lines your engine DO NOT DO THIS MOD.. with pvc at least...

Agreed! PVC starts to break down under heat conditions and releases poisen gasses. I would think that the filter would do it's job, but why risk it?
You can buy some metal clothes-dryer tubing from any hardware store. It is flexible and bendable and you can use that to direct air into your airbox. Probably cheaper then that PVC as well...

no, I wouldnt use pvc either.

I'd use 180 degree bent aluminum piping like they use in the teamdelsol DIY for cai...or high temp plastics
