SARS in HK.

I heard on the news about SARS in Hong Kong last week.

SARS is stand for Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome.

Also, if you have a SARS and it's not allowed to travel to HK or whatever. Also, in China is very dangerous.

That's worse happen in Hong Kong with all the peoples are wear mask. It's because of the SARS virus.

I'm from Hong Kong too! Because I move here in May 1997.

Do you understand?

It's actually really dangerous if you are in close contact with people who potentially might have it. Other than that, it doesn't spread around like a crazy virus...
The thign that's scary about it is that doctors still dont' fully know what it is or how to fully cure it although some people walked away from it I believe...

One of my coworkers thinks he had it, and he is fine now.

I personally doubt that he had SARS, but not being a doctor, I'm not going to guess at this stuff.

my friends daughter had sars..........what made it very very very bad for her is that she has something called spinal muscular atrophy. very horrid form of md. a common cold can kill her. anywasy she had it and is doing much better now thanks to aggressive treatment. 2 other kids at her school had it also! very scary, and the cdc is not reporting all the cases like they should be!

There was a case in Jersey somewhere. Thing about it is, all you have to do to get it is be breathing and within 3 feet of someone who has it.

ohiochica 04-11-2003 03:24 PM

she lives in conneticut. Your right all you need to do is be breathing by the person, but also realize not everyone that is near a person with sars gets it. it also has a 3 week incubation period from what i understand. all i can say is if this child wasnt already on a ventilator she would have died for sure! it is a very nasty illness with no mercy!

No one I know has it, but people keep asking me if I do know some. It must be the slant eye thing. I apparently know all the asians in the entire world, as well as their health status. Amazing.

the thought of it kinda freaks me out. And the fact that all they really know how to deal with it is isolation.
