computer chips....

kinda new to the chip thing. i only know that the speed limiter is removed. can anyone else fill me in on what exactly the advantage of getting an aftermarket one is? and if they make them for a 02 civic auto? prices and places to buy would also be nice!

Getting a new chip really should only be done when you are totally finished with mods. There are lots of different things that you can get from a chip; rev limiter can be removed, speed limiter removed, air/fuel curve edited, boost controls, total redesign, etc...the list goes on and on and on...and then some

Check out JET...I know hondata doesnt do anything for your ECU but JET will.

jet, yeah that's great. i'm gonna get one pretty soon

JET chips blow donkey balls, get a Skunk2 ECU. What they basically do is erase your rev limiter (which can be really bad) adjust fuel maps and advance your ignition timing.

they can also lower when VTEC kicks in

Mischief(LTS) 03-31-2003 02:18 PM

would one of these be right for an automatic or what?

Shot 2 Hel 03-31-2003 02:40 PM

they would work with an automatic, but since most tuners drive sticks there might be little this and thats that are better for a stick, but i doubt it would hurt. Call the Manufacturer and ask them
