dropping the car with 17's....
right now the car is dropped 2.5 inches which is pretty damn low, and i personally think makes the whole thing look much nicer. the thing is ill be getting rims and tires soon. preferably 17's. i realized and i've been told i will be rubbing alot with that kind of setup. i want to try and see how low i can actually drop the car with 17's/low profile tires without having some scraping/rubbing problems? because stock height just won't cut it...

well you can get a very low profile tire in which the diameter of the tire and wheel would equal the same diameter of the stock wheel and tire diameter...or similar...
the problem with that is that since the tire is so thin youre more likely to bend a rim... If you wanna keep it dropped that low just cut the wheel to either side when it parked and see where it rubs...cut that part out. And if need be you can roll your fenders w/ a bat...search the for the how-to... |
my situation is worse .........i have 18's ...but i haven't dropped it yet.....but drop w/ 17's is normal u should be fine and like pdiggitydogg said roll ur fender in w/ a bat....

roll your fenders; simple solution
|
if you had 18's on your HB, would it rub or what?
|
One of my mans has a 98 hatch dropped with 18's and his tire don't rub against the fenders.
|
yeah if you plus size the tires to 40 profile on your 17s then it should be about the same

205/40/17 is only .01 inches SHorter than stock 185/65/14 honda rims. that is 23.46 inches vs 23.47 However you are now almost an inch wider so make sure u get a rim with around a 42mm offset:yes:
Thanks For the Offset advice HondaMan http://www.hstuners.com/forums/showt...&threadid=8180 |
