First mods for a 98 SH

Guys as you can tell I am a noob. What would be some really good mods to go with on a bone stock car? I really want to beat my cousin and his 02 mustang GT. Can anybody point me in a direction? :zombie:

If you're looking for real speed: turbo

If you don't have the money for big mods, start with an AEM intake IMHO.

Thats a good start

How much power will that give me? I have like $900 to spend to catch him. :zombie:

You will not catch him with 900 bucks. They run low 14s stock, and 900 bucks in mods ain't gonna cut it.

Your only hope for $900 is nitrous. :|

Well, he isn't stock. Here is a list of his mods.
Eibach drag springs
4.10 gears
K&N fipk
Sub frames
ditched rear seat, jack and spare
I have no clue what he runs, but could I catch him with nitrious? Thanks for the help guys. :zombie:

ya..but you can't run straight nitrous...you need internal shit too bro

RU_Teg 03-23-2003 02:41 AM

well I'd start of by buying an AEM CAI...than i'd buy a catback exhaust, depends on which one u'd like, I'd go with tanabe racing medallion or apex'i N1...then DC Sport headers...save up some more money and change ur cams and cam gears...save up some more money after that and change your pistons and intake manifold...IMO...

After market Camshafts are not needed unless you PORT & POLISH. You can go with the basic I/H/E mods but for an SH its about 900.00-1300.00 depending on the exhaust. A 50 shot of Nitrous is fine on STOCK internals. You might beat the GT with the Nitro which runs about 600.00 with all the necessary guages, switches, bottle warmer (depending where you live).. Go with a DRY set up though.

get rid of the unnecesarry stuff first: spare, back seat, the trunk liner, stereo system if u have one, that will give u a nice boost in performance since your car heas leather and that is heavy as hell.
