I had that problem once...I had to reformat...I called microsoft for help and they told me there wasnt any "safe" way of doing it...I guess you could hack the reg. but you might mess it up if you dont know what youre doing

I cant believe her. I left it behind when I moved out for her to use for a short time. I got it for x mas of last year and I have used it like twice. I have stuff on here that I need...

You can't even access your files as a guest?
You should be able to copy your documents and whatnot out without the password.

But as far as getting rid of the password I think your in for a re4mat yo.

Wait.
If its a BIOS password, clear the CMOS with the jumper on the motherboard.

If its the XP pwd, put in the xp cd at boot, and go to the recovery console. I'm pretty sure you can go somewhere from there.

I havent used a windows computer in a while (technical wise). I am a die hard apple user. Do I put the CD in, turn off the computer and then restart?

Yeah, but I just thought of a problem. If this is a laptop, the OS was installed by the company I assume, so you won't have the pwd to do this. I dunno what you'd do...

Its not partitioned by any chance, is it?

Which version of XP - home or pro?

It sounds like Pro since you were able to log in as guest. Can you log in as Administrator (probably a blank p/w)
