The dual intake on VTEC Accords...
Some kid came up to me last night and started talking shit, trying to say that his '93 Accord was faster then my non-VTEC '98 because he had a dual stage intake something another. What does the dual intake do?
Last time I checked, we're driving Accords, and the air-consumption isn't anything outragous on them. I tried to get him to put his money where his mouth was, and race, but then he made up some BS excuse about his VTEC solenoid or something. Gayness I say. -Ducky |

last time i checked my 93 accord did not have vtec! but it does have dual stage intake manifold that they put only on the ex and se models. Does honda use a different intake manifold for the 5th and 6th gen vtec and non vtec anybody know?

havent heard about one but at the same time never really payed much atention

A normal manifold has 4 runners one for each cylinder. The dual stage manifolds have 8 runners 2 per cylinder. At lowrpms only 4 of the 8 runners are open and at a certain rpm all 8 runners open and allows more airflow which equals more hp! Some people call this Pre vtec

yeah what john said.
