hip-hop isn't music...it's a culture. it has 4 main elements(with multiple small ones). b-boying(aka breakdance), writing(aka graffiti art), turntablism(aka deejay), and emcee(use to be host-like, now just a rapper).

it sounds like you took that right off of the SCRATCH DVD.....shesh...but hip hop is also a form of music or expression....it takes a good beat or rhythm with great lyricists to back it up....another good portrayal is brown sugar, that movie was tight as hell thanks a lot to mos def....some of the best lyricists...mos def, talib kweli, the roots, j5, dilated peoples....i mean you can way back too and find a lot...
