intakes.

Can someone please explain to me the difference between Short RAM? intake and Cold air Intakes? And which one would you prefer for a 97 ex coupe?

Cold air has the filter sitting behind your bumper. Colder air is more dense and your engine will make more power. CAI is preferred.

a Short Ram intake takes air from the engine bay, cold air intake takes fresh cold air from out side the engine bay. I would def go with the cold air. You will get more HP from it...Not that much, but more.

SRI is supposed to give better throttle response too because the air has a lesser distance to travel (dont quote me on it Ive never used CAI or even been in a car that had it). SRI is recommended if you live in a wet climate because CAI can easily suck up water (w/o the bypass valve)

ive been wanting to hook my car up with an AEM cai for awhile now... too bad im broke =/

the power gain of a CAI vs. SRI is very insignificant... SRI are used most often on show cars.... also SRI are cheaper! SRI are just as good as a cold air as long as you put a heat shield on it...

get a short ram, way easier to install and the HP difference is extremely minimal and they are much less $

a CAI doesnt have to be expensive if your dont afraid of actual diy work...http://teamdelsol.com/-howto-/-coldair-/diycoldair.htm
