i'm really bad with terminology.

when you say "tuning" you mean what?

When people say tuning, I believe they just mean tweaking and upgrading their cars to make them run faster, handle better, etc. Its just a general term.

tuning = modding = suping = tweaking = fixing up your car to make it badass

Tuning refers to the TUNING of the car's timing, air/fuel mix etc to gain more power. You are fine tuning different aspects of the car to make it run stronger.
