and the winner is...
![]() The Winning design from Daniel Libeskind, includes a 1,776 foot spired Building with office space and vertical garden. The plan retains the Twin Towers Foundations. The design includes 5 towers and several smaller buildings . A "WEDGE of LIGHT" area is designed to have no shadows between 8:46am and 10:28 am every sept 11.th i really like the idea. very thoughtful with the light, and i like the look of it. very modern |
your pic is way too small. anyway the part with the shaddows is very interesting
it's nice, but it doesn't seem to blend in too well...
bling bling...
Sticks out like a sore thumb
..meh...i cant really see that much in that pic...it LOOKS ok...
the towers dont look very tall in that pic
the building on the left seems very tall; looks like there is something white coming out of the top of it.
i think thats the vertical garden
That is ugly. But then again, I shouldn't talk shit because who am I to knock an architect whose design won out of hundreds of others. But I still think it's ugly.

i think by the time its completed it will look better, because they need to build a "modern" building in a city full of really old ones |

The colors just look so bad, you know? That shadow thing is kick ass though. I just think that they should stick a little more the the original design but not build over the footprints of the old buildings. |
i think.. and this is just a guess, but that color is glass. its kinda hard not to build on the footprints of the old WTC because of its enourmous size

exactly...it is time for a more modern look in america's cities...I think pretty soon...all the buildings in NY and many other MAJOR cities...there will be a more futuristic look... |

I agree...I don't understand why cities now a days feel the need to "modernize" their buildings. Living on the East coast and living in the US's first capital...there are a TON of old ass buildings in my city and Lancaster city(aka amish area). Both cities are trying to "revitalize" the cities to bring business in and what not...but they keep taking out all of the old historical buildings...I think the old cities should pride themselves on their heritage/history and that is really hard to do when you have some eye sore that looks like it's from the Jetson's in the middle of your city. I think the design is neat and the shadow thing rocks...but I just don't think it "fits" in NYC. |

I'm not sure if it's the case with this design but I know that there was some plan to actually change the roads to accomodate the new WTC. Because they didn't want to build on the footprints. I don't understand why everything has to be all modern looking. NYC should just be left alone. When I go there I'm not all, "Ewe, this city is so out of style". |
