finally a race. and it was my own kind. a blue wrx. it looked niiiiice. it had the body kit options from the factory. and the only mods i noticed were a cat back and blow off valve. he was in front of me at the light. we waited to get past traffic, then he took off first then i did a couple seconds later. i dunno how.. but i started pulling on him from the start. it took a little while but i ended up passin him at 120. i kept gaining a foot at a time and slowly moved up his car.
see i dunno if my car has any other mods done to it or not cuz i know nothing about subarus. i know it has new intercooler hoses, a blow off valve, a short shifter and it's lowered. those don't add any power though. musta been all driver skilll ;) .
ehh any way it was cool to actually see another wrx driving on the same side of the road for once. we were both cool about it. givin the thumbs up and waiving to eachother like homos. prob his first time racing one too. wow the cobra woulda ripped that cars ass off. but also i wouldnt have raced if i was in the cobra cuz it was all sand on the highway :yes: lol. and we know what happens when sand and cobra's meet.;(

How much did you get your wrx for and how many miles on it? I am thinking about selling my honda and possibly getting a wrx!

mine was $20,000 + registration and taxes = $21400 i think.
it had 12,400 miles on it i think. maybe 12600.. no more than that though. the dealership would have liked to sell it for more but my dad's friend used to be the sales manager there so he said for them to sell it to me at that price. book value is still 24,900 for it and mine came with some mods and appearance stuff. but you can find them in the 18500-22000 range with low mileage. right now if you have real good credit, you can get the 0 % interest or 3.9% but thats only on 03's. i don't really think many people get those rates. i needed a co-signer to get my rate of 6.9%. i just wanted to keep my payments under $300 a month and with $7000 down, i only pay $245 a month... but for 6 years:pukey . just tell a dealership what you are lookin for cuz people there always go to auctions and can find you a car too.

Hey in 2 weeks I will be back from school! I challenge YOU to a race! ;) I will probably lose, as you seem to have some mods you don't even know about, especially after beating another WRX who wasn't even stock. Let's go from a slow roll, say 10 mph. I need my shift kit in, that week I should have it installed, get in touch with Dan. The week of the 10th will be Goldie's Revenge! There is a nova in town that is slow that I want to stomp on too. :yes:

his cobra got wrapped around a tree after an incident caused by sand on the highway at over 100mph;(

;( capable of 13.2's on streets... 12.9 on Drag Radials... too bad i suckeddddd at the track. i missed 2nd gear and got a 14.3 @ 103 i think. dan's car and mine were even in races and he did a 13.5 with drag radials and i know his car is quicker than that. we both beat Friggin vettes.

it's runnin 9.6 @ 144mph !!!!!!!!

What are you doing w/ that motor in the Cobra?

its been gone. insurance took everything. wish i coulda kept it but i needed all the money i could get to pay off the car.
i wouldnt put that in a cougar though.....

dude couldn't you buy the car back from insurance for under $1k ? i know some friends of mine did after they totalled their intreprid. don't ask me why they did it

yeah for 1k exactly i could have. the car was picked up and dropped a bunch of times with a fork lift. plus it hit a tree and flipped going 105.... with myyyy luck the engine will have problems with it. when youre 18 with a 10,000 loan out, $1000 is alot of money. i couldnt risk it. i wasnt gonna get another fast car for right now anyway. i needed to pay off my loan and buy another car. if i wasnt losing so much money iw oulda definitly kept it. or i woulda have just bought another cobra or a 99 trans am. i am not responsible enough for a car that as we can all see.:rambo:

Vettes arent indestructable bro, the one i raced around here was a c5 auto, had about 2 cars........ TO 60!!

From a stoplight that stops traffic before you go onto the highway(25 light ;) ), so i had my boy greg get out of the car and tape from the side of the road, but his camera battery is fuct now and i cant even get dave (wrx owner) the tape of him racing my mustang when we ran em.

you shoulda seen it chevy's flagship car (in 97 at least ;)) getting dusted by a 1988 ford mustang with 500 bucks in bolton aftermarket parts

We raced until 140mph, he matched my speed at about ~100-105 mph then it took him an extra 35mph to actually pass the slowstang.... pssst did i mention i ran outta gear to? haha the only way that car even gained on me was because i was in 5th @ 3500 chilling... i woulda prolly pulled him again @ 150 cause my intake mani helps only @ 5K+ rpms.

as for daves old cobra... STREET racing it was the only car i know capable of taking me off the line even with a GOOD launch.... with posi i estimate (i lost it before i went to the track :( ) i used to be able to do 1.8 60 ft's, only problem with that car is while id still be full out, the cobra would have to lift hard changing gears so as not to blow tire. so i would always get past him in 2nd, i would pull a bit as well as 4th but when i switched to 5th he would inch me again. it was awesome i wish greg would let me upload the tape but hes a Biatch for one, and two since the battery is dead im never gonna c it again ;(

i miss those days there were some good races.. and the cameracar greg was driving (cobra 96 short ram intake) would always talk shit on tape when we "jumped" lol hes like 6 cars behind dave 8 from me talking shit about his launch or start.

.... and yea... i said f*cked up at the track... just cuz i got a 14.3 doesn't mean anything. so the talon i raced got a 16.7.... does that mean that is what he will always run or what is capable of?
