Exhaust

Anyone recommend a good cat back that isn't high pitched and annoying? I want a kind of deeper growl, not the bee in the bottle. It's for a 94 LX four door. What about the Greddy Evo?

ridinlowaccord 02-21-2003 01:28 AM

evo is always nice but a little pricy

i have borla and its nice and deep then custom 2.25 in piping axel-back and its nice and not so loud u cant even talk with someone in the car which i have heard the evo its really really loud

jsut a suggestion

EVO is nice, Apex WS is nice... but the tips are too big for my liking (~4.25").

davidthall55 02-21-2003 01:55 AM

Yeah, I don't really want the huge tip, maybe 3" max. I definitely don't want one too loud so I can't hear my music at 3k RPM

I have the Apex WS and I love it. Yea, the tip is a bit big, but it really does'nt look bad on. The system is not loud at all though.

Have somebody make you a custom exhaust and save some $$ the key is to the muffler you choose! I have a dual tip magnaflow muffler that is pretty quiet under 4000 rpms, gives off a nice deep tone and I can roar with riciest of civics when I want too!

Id go with the greddy evo. It sounds soo awsome and when people see your can they know its quality.

Is it worth getting a rear section exhaust?? I really like the Apexi WS but shit it's expensive...ALL OF THEM ARE EXPENSIVE, is it worth paying like 1/2 the price for the rear section of the exhuast???

No, if you have to save money, get a muffler and have custom piping run to it.

VTracer19 02-26-2003 12:20 PM

so just a muffler and have a shop do the piping correct?? any suggestions on a good muffler...i dont want a diseal engine sound...just a nice ROAR :), soft sound not too deep. what u recommend for diameter of the custom piping?

Honda530 02-26-2003 01:29 PM

when you get custom piping make sure you have a resonator welded in. It will elimate back fire and make the exhasut sound better. I like the apex n1 style mufflers:) the Big cylinder. hehe

VTracer19 03-03-2003 09:18 PM

hey if i get a muffler and custom piping, how much would that cost me and anyone got a website with cheap mufflers, oh yeah does the muffler need to be welded to the piping or held by brackets?? I know i have no clue what i'm talking about and feel free to call me a fool or what ever, i'm just starting to think about what i want on my and i want it done correct so it will last.....peace

hey i fould this place that does custom exhaust...he charging my bro like 100 for mendral bent piping for his exhaust, he getting his own muffler and have them install it when he does the piping. U guys think that's a good price, it'll probably be around 150 for mine becuase it's longer than my bro's piping but i wana find a nice muffles, something like a TANABE Hyper Spec exhaust muffler, something that has that tip, i dont really like the 4 inche tips or double tips. anyone a website for mufflers???
