Ive said it before, and ill say it again. Go with a Thermal R&D classic catback exhaust.

RU_Teg 02-10-2003 02:52 PM

hmm...I'd say go with Apexi N1 or Tanabe racing medallion but then again it depends on how much money he has to spend...

cashizslick 02-10-2003 03:11 PM

well, its just a matter of tone preference - all catbacks are virtually the same in terms of flow characteristicts.

5Zigen Fireball...I hear thats a good choice.

Turbo_LS_Hatch 02-10-2003 03:18 PM

I've always wanted a 5Zigen Fireball, especially the titanium one. I have an Apex'i N1, sounds good, looks good, doesn't scrape. If your car is really low, look into one of the Greddy systems. I forgot which series it is, but they make one that is recessed up a little bit for more ground clearance, and make a good amount of hp.....18 to the wheels on a 2001 V6 Accord.

RU_Teg 02-10-2003 03:27 PM

yeah Iv'e heard a lot of good things about 5zigen fireball but I dont think they make one for my 2nd gen. integra or at least I havent seen it...

oc civic 02-10-2003 05:16 PM

i liek my N-1...

JDMB16 02-10-2003 05:25 PM

go with the Apexi N-1 style exhaust if you want a LOUD exhaust that yeilds good gains or RS*R AKA Skunk2 Megapower exhaust. Personally, I would go with the Thermal Research and Development exhaust, good gains and a nice, mellow, low pitched exhaust

96coupe 02-10-2003 05:28 PM

don't get the obx, i say apex-i ws for a quiet exhaust, or a Skunk2 megapower exhaust

sohc_vtec 2NR 02-10-2003 05:58 PM

i say GREDDY EVO...this will give you great ground clearance if you lower your car..

pdiggitydogg 02-10-2003 06:28 PM

like I have and always will say...THERMAL R&D

Civic98 02-10-2003 07:22 PM

I heard tanabe exahaust is pretty good too

sohc_vtec 2NR 02-10-2003 07:45 PM

i don't really think there is "one" best catback system...it all depends on what the person is lookin' for....just thought i'd point out the obvious..;)

DJWURM 02-10-2003 10:02 PM

Tanabe!!!!!! i love mine! deep tone!

nekcuttR 02-10-2003 11:15 PM

Thanx I have like more than a 1000 to spend on it but i dont wanna use the whole 1000 on just exhaust id like some other things as well not sure what yet tho
Im really looking for gains and sound im not all that worried about clearance
im thinking of buying a header but im not sure if i should if someone could give me some feedback on that plz muchthanx:pfft:

Turbo_LS_Hatch 02-10-2003 11:49 PM

JIC magic makes some badass exhausts, in titanium too:yes: I personally don't like the Thermal system. A friend has it on his GS-R, and it sounds funny, and doesn't seem to have the quality I would expect. It also looks like some of the packing blows out if he's driving hard. About the header, DO NOT go with DC Sports. The fitment on them sucks, and the flanges start to rust very quickly. I had a bad exhaust leak using it on my GS-R. Go with Comptech, Apex'i, Skunk2, or something like that.

BTW, the Skunk2 Megapower/RS*R Invidia exhaust system is also nice. It's actually JDM too, but kind of Americanized.

nekcuttR 02-11-2003 12:00 AM

What Im really needing to know is if the exhaust kits for a 01 Civic Ex would fit my Lx ? I think it should but i dont want to just assume because they always separate Lx from Ex i dunno ?

armyguy5 02-11-2003 06:45 PM

NO!!!!DX uses a warm up style cat it's right off the manifold
where an ex is underneath the car.. 2 totally different systems ...straight from a honda tech
cannot use the same headers because of this exact reason...u must order parts specificly for your lx
