question

well i got the cold right now... and its shit... nuttin helps... echinacea, antihystemyne(sp?), vitamins.... so i was wondering what helps you out when you get sick?

thanks in advance for the input....

hot chocolate, chicken soup, watching movies all day...

sorry for getting sick but antyhistamines won't help for a cold. they are for allergies (allergy to hystamines is the most common alergy). get some dayquill for daytime and nyquill for the night. and some alka seltzer plus for cold. you will feel better in less than half hour

soup, hot tea, I also drink those lemon tea things that help you fall asleep before sleep! And lots and lots of time just lying down, drinking hot tea, and covering myself so it's warm (that way I sweat)

Most over the counter drugs weaken your immune system, so while they temporarily make the symptoms go away you'll end up being sick longer.

Dayquil or nyquil are the only cold medicines that work on me.

ok this is weird.. im sittin here at the computer, and im eatin some mints.. anyways, my nose cleared up... strange

RU_Teg 02-09-2003 06:15 PM

I'd take some tylenol cold medicine...eat something that will warm you up and just relax all day...probably watch tv or sleep...;)

I try to avoid takin OTC meds....I'd rather just let myself heal naturally by taking care of myself. But there are times when I just feel like I've been hit by a MAC truck and I take Tylenol Cold and Sinus.....it's also been proven that something in Chicken Soup does help fight colds....so yah I'd find someone to make me some chicken soup if I were you and get lots of rest.
