Clock Light

Does the 98 accord dash clock above the AC controls suppose to light up whenever turning on the headlights?? If so...how do I replace the bulbs in there? And what size are they. Thanks

DjFrost 02-02-2003 04:26 PM

Good question... I'm a little lost here. Shouldn't the clock always light up... as in display the time?

no it's more like the old electronic watches witout a backlit display. it's not luminescent like in the 4th and 5th gen accords

could be an EX thing, try asking your local dealer....

Accord Man 02-02-2003 09:41 PM

if you're unable to see the time at night, then there definately is a problem.. just stating the obvious..

DjFrost 02-02-2003 10:55 PM

This sux.........I tought I was the only one with the clock problem........since I bought my car with a little damage and I tought it caused the clock not to work............I took my friends 2000 Coupe Accord for a spin few times and his clock lighted up.................This clock problem is driving me nuts (when driving at night)...........but beside that I love my ride ;)

accord98lx 02-03-2003 01:04 AM

I just want to know how to replace the bulbs..what size is it and how do I get into the clock stock light?? Im not in any hurry to fix it because thank god,...my cd alpine HU has a clock on it.....And If I can get to the stock bulb..who knows..I might change it blue!!

ifeldwn02 02-03-2003 02:09 AM

i poped mine out to see, theres a light on the right top corner when u pull the clock out but i dont know what size it is

94_AcCoRd_EX 02-03-2003 02:47 AM

Either buy a helms manual for your car, or just call honda for the bulb size.

accord98lx 02-03-2003 03:16 AM

How did you popped it out??? with a screwdriveer?? I tried to pop mines off but it wouldnt budge...I didnt wanted to break anything.

ifeldwn02 02-03-2003 08:46 PM

get a small screwdriver go on to the bottom left corner u might have to play with it the 1st time but it will pop out a little then just work ur way across the bottom till it pops out

dont worry because i had to put some pressure on it but i came out in one peice
