MSD 6A and spark plug gapping

i was reading the instructions for my msd 6a ignition last night and they came up with a chart for different engine compressions: up to 10:1 the spark plug gap should be .63 or something like that and stock it is areound .43". should i modify the gap after i install my ignition or leave it at stock setting ? just a confused mofo :paranoid:
