Horsepower gain from CAI?

Hello,

I was wondering how much HP my v6 would gain with a K&M Typhoon Intake System or maybe the AEM? the AEM is $50 more.

What other low-cost mods could I make to gain horsepower?

Thanks.

I would go with the AEM intake they are better quality...depending on your elevation you will probably see a 8 hp increase with the cold air system. Other cheap hp gainers would be exhaust, cam gears, headers, etc...

How much HP would headers add and how much do they typically cost? Also, will I be able to install the CAI myself? What about installation costs for the headers?

Hi!

Welcome to HS!

You'll be able to install it yourself.

Remember this mods will work best when you have the full system going.

So when the air is fed, and expelled.

Meaning consider the I/H/E including high flow cat.

Depending on what you are wanting, you may want to consider forced induction with or without I/H/E...

hope this helps!

8hp? I would say you would see less than half of that.

yeah, but if you pack the fender with dry ice....

like I said depending on your elevation...we put one on the dyno up here at 5000ft. and it made 6 hp...you get more out of the v6...the intake you can install yourself, along with the headers, exhaust, etc...those are simple bolt ons.
