Which one?

I want to get a turbo, but im holding off on buying a kit until i get my engine swap done. But, if i could go to a junkyard and tear one out of a wreaked car for sorta cheap then i will turbo my stock motor that is currently in there (the d16) and run it at like 5 psi or so. My question is which turbo would fit in there? And what else would i need to get, also what would i need to pull at the junk yard... please try to list everything i would need....thx!

and the last question is, is there a guide somewhere that tells what turbo is in what car?

none will be a direct bolt on. you need fuel managment, a way to trick your ecu into thinking your not running boost(missing link is most common with hondas) you need a manifold, a blow off valve, since your going to be running a stock turbo, the waste gate will probobly be built in and you'll need an intercooler because i cant think of any that run under 5 or 6 psi, also the turbo piping. its not really worth it.

If you plan on swapping and on a tight budget, I would not recommend a custom turbo on your current stock. For one, it's not really that cheap to start a custom turbo project. It will still cost you around $1000 or more. At a minimum, these will be required:

-Custom exhaust manifold= $200-400
-Junkyard turbo (T3, TD04, TD05, T25, T28)= $50-60
-Downpipe and downpipe adapter= $80-100
-Intercooler (Starion, Conquest, Volvo, Saab)= $30-50 used
-All piping= $150
-Boost dependent FMU= $80-100 used
-Cone Air filter= $50-100
-Oil supply line= $30-50
-Oil drain line= $5
-Oil fittings= $20
-Piping connectors= $20
-Hose clamps= $15
-Various vacuum lines= $10
-Gauges= $120

There are still ways to cut these prices. For one, you can use a 88-91 CRX/standard Civic pre-cat headers that can be converted to act as your exhaust manifold. These header will fit all D-series engines. To get more info, visit www.homemadeturbo.com

Hope that helps.......peace!
