Can I do this?

Is it a good Idea to drive like this?

I do normal driving in D4. At about 2000 rpm, I shift to D3, I feel a sudden boost in power, then at about 3000 rpm, I shift down to "2" and then, you can REALLY feel the car gettin boosted. Was lookin at my rpms and it went from 3000 rpms to 6000 rpms in a matter of a like 2-3 seconds, and If I didnt let my foot off the pedal, I think it woulda went into the red zone (maybe I dunno).

I only do this a couple of time.. Should I be doing this? Does it my hurt my engine or damage anything??

nope. don't do it. it will mess up your tranny. you feel that boost in power because the engine gets into it's power band and also you downshift at the same time.

Better be careful the tranny could go out:o

Bad idea. Drive the auto like it was meant to be driven.

when do you do that?

I started doing it when my dad told me to shift in "2" because we was on this steep hill. Then I started doing it on flat road . It wouldnt hurt the engine if I did it on a hill though right??

i do that even though its bad..more the reason to get a swap..hehe:loco: :loco: if u dont have the money..DONT DO IT ;) ;)

you do it going down hill so you can use engine braking instead of overheating and killing your breaks. I'm in question about using it to go up hill. I hear the tranny won't shift into low gear if -its going to f--- up the engine, but wouldn't rely too much on that

ut oh, better stop playing wit my tranny
