Buzzing Door Lock
 

Wondering if this ever happened to anyone else. I got power locks and everytime the front driver side door unlocks, it makes a very LOUD buzzing sound, but it still works.

Sounds like the door lock actuator is about to go out.

That ain't good, it only does that when it unlocks though. Locking is quiet and normal. I was foolin with it today and I have no idea how to take it out and i cant find anything in the chilton book. Any ideas?

Have you tried a haynes manual. They usually good about interior removal and installation.

Yea mine has been doing that for about 2 years now.

.... speaking of door lock actuators, mine pops back up and yes i know that i need to pull the handle before I lock the door but it feels like it doesn't stick and ther're something pulling on the handle!! it's annoying because sometimes i can't lock the door and I have to depend on the alarm.

So i went to my local HONDA dealer, they told me I needed a new actuator, which can cost up to 300+ on one door! oh and the haynes manual doesn't tell me how to mess with the actuator, but it does tell you how to bust the panels open to get to the speakers, good luck!

my friend tells me he replaced his actuators before. he got 2 for $100 at a junkyard.

Damn, that sounds kinda high. I'll check some of the junkyards around here for you if you want. What year is your is accord?

I got 94 accord. the front left door costs $150 new and i thought 100 for 2 was pretty expensive for junyard material. i got to the actuators in the door and i was able to take them off and put em back on not too hard.

damn this lock is LOUD!!!!!!! It use to make me jump when it started happening hahaha, now i just laugh at everyones facial expression after they here me get out of my car! (very funny at high class restaurants when valet picks up my car)
