V6 in a Lude...True or BullSh!tz?
What up Luders...
A guy, that works in the same building as I do mentioned that his "BOY" had a 94'Prelude with an Accord v6 Engine...He didn't know what year Accord the v6 engine came out...He claimed that his boy did little to no mods to fit that powerhouse in his lude... I saw the lude, it looks nice, It even had a litttle v6 emblem, but I have yet to look under the hood. I asked to see the engine, he said after work...he got out around 9:30pm...so at 9o'clock I got out of work and his lude was gone..."Maybe he was hiding something or hiding nothing" I guess the question is...Can this be done? If it can be done, why isn't it done more often? |
Why would you want the Accord V6 when the H22A makes the same power, better to mod, and comes in a manual?
|
I GUESS it's possible, but that would be one of the stupidest swaps ever.
|
that sounds stupid. i think it can be done, for the j30a but i dunno about the j27. i think that would fit easily in the lude but 30 hp less. for the j30 he needed to make a lot of mods to the car to have it fit

 |
anything is possible with enough money but yeah that would be REALLY REALLY F**KING STUPID
|
Anything is possible all is needed is $$$$, the shop I goto is working on a 5th Gen lude and doing a swap with a 6speed V-6 accord engine..
|
Some guy put the 2003 SVT Cobra engine in his ZX3. ANYTHING is possible.

that at least has benifits. |

damn that must be a fast car. is the zx3 the hatchie ? |
WTF would someone do that for? The ludes are already pretty heavy. That fat V6 won't help much. Not to mention, limited to no mods.

Yep. I've seen a 302 swapped in there. They actually make kits for that shit. Ever since I saw it, I check for rear differentials before I line with a focus. |
Quote:
yeah, ive seen 4 around at different shows and such. they are very fast |
i wonder how the chassis is gonna take that. the focus chassis looks like it's easy to bend but i won't put my hand on that. i've seen a fierro with a big chevy in it ( not very informed on domestics) and the frame twisted :o
|
the ZX3 would beat a civ anyway, they arent slow at all

Don't start that argument. It has nothing to do with the current topic. 2003 Focus ZX3 Acceleration (0-60 mph): 10.2 sec. Horsepower: 130 hp Torque: 135 ft-lbs. Weight: 2598 lbs 2003 Civic EX Acceleration (0-60 mph): ~8.7 sec. Horsepower: 127 hp Torque: 114 ft-lbs. Weight: 2594 lbs. |

IF YOU ARE QUSTIONING THE ACCORDS POWER YES THE ENGINE IS MUCH LESS POWER FULL IN THE US HOW EVER IF YOU WERE TO LOOK TO THE JDMS THE JDM H23 INGINE HAS 260 HP AT THE CRANK THE JDM H22 HAS ONLY 230 HP AT THE CRANK ALTHOUGH THE JDM H23 IS NON V-TECH DOHC IF YOU'RE GOING TURBOS OR SUPER CHARGERS U WANT THE H22 HOWEVER IF YOUR GOING DISSPLACEMENT THE H23 IS THE PLACE TO BE

You sir, are a tool. First: Second: It's VTEC, not V-TECH. No Hyphen, no h. Third: The only JDM H23 is the DOHC VTEC (no H in VTEC) out of the Accord SiR Wagon, and it is rated at 200ps, which is equivalent to 197HP, which is the same rating as the JDM H22A. The JDM H22A found in the Type-S is rated at 220ps, which is about 217HP. All power ratings are at the crank. Fourth: The USDM H23 (the DOHC non-VTEC) is better for F/I than the H22 when using stock internals. The compression is slightly lower, and the slightly larger displacement is also a plus. |
It's easy to search online for specs, but once all the mods are done, it all comes down to the size of the driver's balls....
|
back in the day when thay were still making the probe, thay made a few with 302s....
