Big Newbie Help

Hello All,What Nitro Kit should i put in my Honda Civic Type-R (EP3) From 2001???
ZEX,Venon,NX??? And what about shotS? 75? 50?
Thank U Very Much!

AzCivic 09-21-2002 11:08 PM

ZEX is the cheapest and the easiest to install, so get that. I'd stick with a 50hp shot for reliability. I think you can find the ZEX kit on groupbuycenter.com for like 450$ shipped, don't get much cheaper than that.

You'll probably drop about 2 seconds off your 1/4mile time.
The way the zex kit works is that it comes on when you hit wide open throttle or in other words when the gas pedal is smashed against the floor. So it'll last as long as you stay in WOT. For more info on their kit go to http://www.zex.com/ The whole bottle will last about 3 minutes of continual use.

lololol

LOL
"3 minutes "????
Does the car motor hold on that much if it is stock??
And i can press the buton...i get one shot then its over..then i can press it another time?

Well what are your long term goals? ZEX is by far the easiest kit to install. But the dry kits like ZEX & NOS(their dry version) are really only good to about 75 shot.

If you want power & flexibility go with the NOS Direct Port kit. 80-200 shot adjustable. A CTR engine can handle the 80 shot minimum. The nice part about direct port is that it injects into the intake manifold rather than the intake pipe.

well.. you dont want a button.. if you spray while off the throttle.. your gonna cause damage.. get the mirco switch hooked up to the trottle cable.. much safer. oh and its a continues shot.. its not just *psh* then your done.. it leaks out enough n2o over the whole time your on the throttle like *pshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh* shift *pshhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh* shift get the idea?

Is this any good? ---------------- ) http://www.hps-nitro.com/

ebpda9 09-22-2002 02:27 PM

i would make some comments on it but i don't know any spanish

Addict 09-22-2002 02:48 PM

If you could translate I might be able to help on that. But NOS has been in the game for a long time. NOS, ZEX & NX are the kits to look at.

Stay away from Venom.

Nitrous.....not NOS. NOS is a brand.

You'll gain some nice wheelspin... heh.

But it will help your overall speed. Especially since Hondas tend to lack that low end torque.

So if im in 6ªth Gear and im at 160 mph....will it gain more max speed?

AzCivic 09-22-2002 07:03 PM

NO! Don't focus on "Fast and Furious" for a reference, top speed is a function of gearing not HP, assuming you have enough HP to get to the top of your last gear adding nitrous at the end of your last gear will make the engine bounce off the revlimiter and probably screw something up. Then again if you have like 7 gears like that eclipse then who knows?

Ok..so it should be fine if i press it from 6000 rpm from 6th gear?

AzCivic 09-22-2002 09:21 PM

If the car stops accelerating at 6krpms in sixth then sure you can hit the nitrous to get to redline.

General rule of thumb on our high revrs is to spray above 3k. You really don't want to spray on launch otherwise you won't move....:)

Ok i see...do i have to wait till i press again in shots? or i can press the times that i want once its over?

I don't think I follow you on that one.

Basically you flip the switch and any time you are at WOT(wide open throttle) you'll be spraying. 10-15 seconds max!!

2ndGenTeg 09-23-2002 12:52 PM

You don't push a button. The nitrous injection is an automatic function, triggered by the throttle pedal being fully depressed.

There is no nitrous button.

Repeat.

There is no nitrous button.

AzCivic 09-23-2002 08:51 PM

OH YEAH, well on "fast and furious" there was, I just hope this guy doesn't blow the welds on the intake, oh and make sure your floorboards are securely fastened! :D :D

CivicType-R 09-23-2002 10:11 PM

?

so after i press one time..it gives me the shot..the when its over can i give another shot?

Ok. Get PRESSING ANYTHING OUT OF YOUR MIND. Think happy thoughts. Clear the mind......

Ok. Now. There's a switch. A toggle switch.

Once this switch is turned on (aka "ARMED"). The system is in a ready state.
As soon as you press the pedal all the way to the floor, the nitrous will activate. When you let off the gas (anything less thatn full throttle) the nitrous shuts off. You can press the pedal again and the nitrous will spray again.
