Nice choice on the car :D

So what does it run? When you say Japanese manufactured, its still just a USDM, right?

a96710 01-07-2003 03:48 PM

looks good

ebpda9 01-07-2003 05:05 PM

what is the vin number of the car ? if it starts with j it's made in japan, if it starts with 1 is made in us and if it starts with 2 is made in canada

ebpda9 01-07-2003 05:05 PM

and by the way the car looks great

Yeah, but there's no advantage to any of those, is there?

Honda530 01-07-2003 06:12 PM

Thats a freaking sweet ride man I envy you hehe. About it being japanese manufactured why is it not right hand drive??? wouldnt it be rhd if its jdm not bagging so dont get that impression either way your car freaking rocks.

A lot of the US Accords were made in Japan... just not made FOR Japan. JDM would be rhd.

Cool, I didn't know that.

hondav6 01-07-2003 10:25 PM

Sorry guys about the delayed response, the mailer system for the site isn't working for me...otherwise i would have gotten right back at you.

AS for the VIN number on the car...it begins with a "J" . I am not too sure, but weren't there not too many 5th gen accords made completly in japan? I was just under that impression for some reason.

Thanks for the complements :)

Read Stefan's (hondamaniacs) post above.

hondav6 01-07-2003 10:38 PM

I did :) I know it was made in Japan, I was just reffering to the quantity of 5th generation accords that were made and imported from japan, I didn't think that there was too many being that they opened that factory in Ohio in the early part of 94 and stopped shipment's of accords from Japan and made them all USDM

ebpda9 01-07-2003 11:16 PM

mine was made at marriesville in OH. gonna visit the plant this spring with a group of engineering students

hondav6 01-07-2003 11:18 PM

sounds like that would be interesting, take pics if you can :)

Rob 01-07-2003 11:46 PM

hey V6...just out of curiousity...how much did you pay for the car??

ShEaNy 01-07-2003 11:50 PM

ya i was wondering the same thing...looks like a badass car..whats the specs on that sucker...1/4 times, hp, etc...

TeriyakiBroccoli 01-08-2003 12:20 AM

Weird, thought all jap-spec cars were rhd?

Its not JDM, just partly built there.

hondav6 01-08-2003 06:10 AM

I don't really want to say how much I paid because it might piss some people off that are trying to sell there hooked up ride.

As for hp and trq ratings....I'm pushing 187.9hp and 189.2trq at the wheels for right now at 7.5lbs of boost. The thing that is screwing me up is those 240's, so thats why i have decided to go with 550's and hondata so i will have the potential with the 550's to push at most 350hp at the wheels, this will be happening next week, so we will all see :)

ifeldwn02 01-08-2003 09:51 PM

looks sweet i figured u would be pushing more hp than that though

hondav6 01-08-2003 10:20 PM

I would be if it wasen't for the injectors, thats is holdin me back!

hondav6 01-10-2003 08:25 PM

so no more comments? I see how it is :loco:

ChrisCantSkate 01-10-2003 08:43 PM

i don't think there were any ludes made in US

da_konig 01-12-2003 10:38 AM

You should look into a h22 swap for it. My engine puts down 190hp to the wheels and over 250 on the bottle. For a round $3,000 you could get a h22 and a turbo mani for it. Bolt up your kit and have close to 300hp and destroy all who dare to pipe thee.

hondav6 01-12-2003 10:56 AM

well, by the end of next week my ride will be pushing 350 at the wheels, or there about...somewhere in the 300-350 range, I don't really want to be like everyone else that has an h22 drop, how many f22b1's do you see that is turbo charged and producing those types of numbers?

ebpda9 01-12-2003 12:46 PM

how much boost ? i really don't see the f22's pusing that much power unless you boost around 16lbs

hondav6 01-12-2003 02:08 PM

im not too sure what boost level i am going to be at with those numbers....i won't know until i get it into the shop this week. But the injectors i am putting in can handle up to 350 hp and my turbo/engine set up can handle up to 25psi the way that it is built
