Whatcha think of this headliner? *pics*

I got bored the other day so i tore down my friends headliner and i re did it with the mitsubishi logo above the rear seat behind the sunroof. Whatcha think?

this is my old truck when i first did it, put a lil to much glue on one spot and it came thru ;[ His looks perfect, i think i may do my civic if i'm not to lazy to take the headliner down

Accord Man 02-24-2002 04:35 PM

If I had a total show car, I'd probably do it.

Maxvla 02-24-2002 05:24 PM

BrandonClaps 02-24-2002 05:30 PM

hard headliner meaning hard as in stiff or hard as in difficuilt?

lol it's not my car ;x

here is a lil better pic with the digital camera

SlikVic 02-27-2002 01:51 AM

That looks unreal, how did you do that, what kind of material is it,

and how do you mold the carpet arount the template?

BrandonClaps 02-27-2002 01:06 PM

i used credit cards to smooth everything out cause if you use your fingers on headliner material u will leave marks. i used 3m Super 77 from sears for the glue. The material is headliner material at joanne fabrics, and the design is closed cell foam i got that from eastern mountain sports actually ;]

yep its stiff... a solid head liner. ie no cloth.
stock headliner in the 90 ex. its nice though cause it will never droop like my mom's 88lx.

BrandonClaps 02-28-2002 01:20 PM

can't u recover it though? :paranoid:

Maxvla 02-28-2002 01:31 PM

possibly... but i dont wanna go to the hassle of messing with the sunroof as well. yep im lazy.

KwikR6 03-04-2002 01:33 PM

Whtehnda93DXSdn 03-07-2002 05:25 PM

Looks really tight..I like what you have done.

What did you use for the raised portion foam?

Thanks for sharing your skills..

bokeylude 03-13-2002 10:36 AM

how about a step by step is that possible??

BrandonClaps 03-13-2002 01:39 PM

I used closed cell foam, how to, it's very simple, rip off old one, sand off the old squishy foam, put th desgin in fom and glue it then recover it. cant' really make a good how to on it

Azkikr111 03-13-2002 05:20 PM

how exactly did you do that?

BrandonClaps 03-13-2002 08:28 PM

lol just ripped off the old one sanded off the little foam connected to the fabric, got some closed cell foam made my design glued it to the headliner fiberglass covered it with new headliner material and used credit cards to push it into place. don't use your fingers as it leaves marks for some reason.

Azkikr111 03-13-2002 10:46 PM

yeah, i think thats a project thats a lil outta my league...i wonder if theres anyone around here that could do it for me....hmmm

BrandonClaps 03-14-2002 11:05 AM

rofl, bring it up to NY and i'll dew it

Whtehnda93DXSdn 03-14-2002 06:02 PM

what kinda glue did you use for that and the job? I have tried to use the 3M 73 I think it is..but that didn't seem to work to well for me..any ideas Brandon?;) ;)

BrandonClaps 03-14-2002 06:45 PM

for his i used 3m Super 77, but i recommend using the glue that can be sprayed out of a air spray gun

hondriv 03-16-2002 08:37 PM

Damn that looks real nice

slowEJ6 03-18-2002 07:33 PM

hmm does anyone make a glue that perhaps comes in a spray can or something along those lines. i hope you dont mind but im going to put a design in my headliner......but not sure where exactly.....neato idea though!

lx4life 03-25-2002 06:28 PM

that is sweet idea. i think i iam going to that on my door panel

BrandonClaps 03-25-2002 07:23 PM

3m Super 77 glue

FeelMyRide 04-04-2002 05:58 PM
