turbo F22B

does anyone have any comments they can give me about boosting a f22b?

i'm looking for someone to tell me how boosting a f22b stands against the h22 or h23. I have an f22b dohc and am looking to go about 6psi. i know people say that to just go to vtec, but i can gain just as much horse power as a vtec while also increasing my torque for the same amount of money.

so any cautions or advice i can get would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

hmmm... I thought all F22b's are SOHC. Anyway, hondamaniac considered that idea not a long time ago. There are a few boosted F22's on HMT and SHC. They like it. If you decide to do an HMT style turbo, you can modify an eclipse 4g63 turbo header to make it work. Go to HMT and search: www.homemadeturbo.com/forum

they have pictures too.

this question was brought up on another board i'm on and I thought that f22 are only SOHC. and with my research I've done the only f series engine I can find that is dohc is the f20b. the only accor di think that could have had a dohc would be the SiR..but even that was h22 wasn't it?

so someone please tell me where a f22b dohc comes from

ebpda9 02-14-2005 09:11 AM

there are a few f22b dohcs. and there are the f22c dohcs too

IALuder 02-14-2005 12:21 PM

isnt the F22bs' that are dohc the speacial addition accords.

CD5Passion 02-14-2005 06:49 PM

....the special editions were just a special trim..i didn't think the engine was any different from an EX

and if there is a f22dohc why the fuck do I not have it?!??!

IALuder 02-14-2005 10:26 PM

becuase you rushed into buying the one you have.

CD5Passion 02-15-2005 09:48 AM

at least it's a EX, and I wouldnt say rushed, we were looking at cars for a long time

Ok since im at work i was willing to waste a good while of my time to research it. and yes there is a f22 dohc non-vetc which was found in a JDM prelude.. but I'd say h22 would give you a better output because of the fact it has a dohc AND vtec.
well im glad i finally know...crazy japs and their switching engines on me

leave it to the asians :P

well still the F22b will hold boost better. hence the compression difference.

and yes darin. the lude gets all the love. :bandit:

IALuder 02-15-2005 07:29 PM

It actually has 160 hp and 148 tq, a lil bit less than the h23. I think the compression is 9-5-1 versus the 9-8-1 of the h23. This is the perfect prelude motor for you to bolt on a turbo kit and just call it quits.

Well turbo on F22B sounds like a good idea !
