cleaning tips

I left it out of the topic to suprise those who have been here awhile and have heard me complain ona nd off about my rims situation....but now 2 years after getting the accord I now own a set of 17" rims thanks to Chris (Chriscantskate)
drove up to orlando and knocked on his front door and handed some cash (good guy btw)
well now I just need to know everyone's opinions on how to clean a rim thoroughly...got some brake dust that needs to be removed and over just shine them up.

also can anyone suggest any good tires and places to get them for not incredibly expensive?

heh, i would just powerwash them

CD5Passion 11-10-2004 11:19 PM

by powerwash what exactly do you mean?....pressure wash?

ebpda9 11-11-2004 09:18 AM

yeah. i know my old sears rims got so clean to the metal after powerwashing them, but the paint was crappy on them too

power wash them. then get some rim cleaner from a auto store.

I would think pressure washing might damage the finish?....what psi would you say is safe to wash it at?
yeah I actually used some of this Eagle One rims wash stuff and it worked really well, just need to scrub 2 rims to get the remaining grime off...oh and one rim has a bit of rubber on it from Chris's blow out.

So I've been looking at tires and I'm leaning towards getting the Nitto Neogens. might be able to get them fairly cheap aswell, I'll have to check this local shop with my buddy.
but has anyone ever had nittos? whats your opinions on these tires?

Eagle One wheel cleaner, a brush and some water will get anything you want clean. If the wheels are polished or chrome I would not use the cleaner when the wheels are hot.

scrub brush(soft)... bucket with soap and water...cheapest way lol...
