Another question about DX mods
Ok! I have decided I wanted to mod my car but where do I start?
I already have an AEM long air intake. I really didn't notice any difference when I installed the intake. Should I go ahead and do the headers and exhaust? Or should I just wait till I drop that h22 or B18cR. But the engine swap probably won't happen till next year. Your suggestions will and would be GREATLY appreciated. |
:| HMmmmmm (they need a better HMMMMmmmm face)
I wouldn't spend any money on the Old engine that won't fit on the new engine, Like I doubt Headers from the 1.6L will fit the 1.8L , but I think an Exhaust would be a safer bet. If your set on doing the swap I would save up the money for the swap, and make that your next mod, but if you wanna do some mods meantime, I would start w/ exhaust and then move on to suspension, or other things, as not to waste your money. Hope it helps |
Any recommendations for exahust?

If your going with a swap, get something nice and quiet. A GReddy PE or Apex'i N1 would do the trick. |
I would say go for the exhaust but not headers if you are goin to do a swap as they will then just be sold to someone else or just sit inyoru garage/room..
You could do inexpensive mods like Plugs/wires and get a little spark goin on there..or maybe even a MSD ignition to go along for better spark and HP... Hoep this might help... |
upgrades
i have 2 gen4hb'. dont do anything to the engine. it is not worth it. JDMHONDAPARTS.COM has a b16a swap for $1250. and you can get the mouts and harnes for arround $500. That is what i suggest. sell the old engine and save 250. then you get the VTECH and DOHC and 160HP. you will not get the 160HP out the the d15. maybe even swap a ZC in but for the effort i would suggest the b16a. If it helps any theres my two pennies.

Well I decided that my next mod would be suspension. I found some deals on the net for some Skunk2 coilovers and KYB AGX shocks for under $600. But I still have to get camber kits and then an allignment. Uhhhh, if aint't one thing it's another. Gotta love my Civic!
