Prelude 2.2si VS 2.3si
 

finally found a prelude im going to buy, but its a 2.3si with 4ws.

is the 2.2 better than the 2.3 and does the 4ws make a difference of any sort.

which engine can handle more mods and abuse.

the 2.2 comes with Vtec and its far more powerfull, im not so sure if there is a 4ws 2.3, u need to check that...

i don't think there is a 2.2 SI. the 4th generation preludes only the 2.3's were comming with 4WS. also there are 2 2.2 engines available for 4th gen preludes: a f22 which makes an eye popping 135hp and the h22 with 190 hp

I dont think there is a 2.2 SI either, the 2.2 is a Vtec powered.

And the 4th gen ludes, the only with 4ws is the 2.2 not the 2.3 because I hvae a 4th gen 2.3 and it dosent have 4ws.

this is the ebay auction for the car, and it clearly says 2.3 4ws and also states that its very rare.

there are only a few 2.3's with 4WS not all of them. and they are not called SI's. they are 4WS and no 2.2's came with 4ws

the 4ws is about as rare as a 2.2 vtec. in 93 there was the si/vtec but in 94 they got their own modle (vtec) theres also the 2.2 S thats underpowered by a 2.2 135hp f22 engine

so back to my first question, is this a good car to buy, is the 2.3 engine good for mods, and does the 4ws make a a differnce on handling. or should i just look for a 2.2 becuase the 2.3 only has 160 hp, right.

the 2.3 is a potential engine, but just not a h22(2.2 vtec) the 4ws is a nice feature, and you can always swap a h22 in later. there isnt as much high performance parts for a h23(beyond bolt ons) but what do you want from the car/maybe you only need the 2.3

U would find more mods for the Vtec than for the 2.3 :paranoid:
When I look for mods for mine, (2.3) I always find first for the Vtec.
