the rebuild begins.....

thats right. i got my bumper in today. i get my hood friday or monday next week.

i also get my new optima battery and DC tie down tommorow. my acura battery is takin a crap.

so ill show step by step progess of my car going from this:

to a stock looking prelude. with JDM fenders, WWRS Sides and rear, Accord Type-R lip, and fiber image hood.

with my already mounted fog lights. pics coming later tommorow.

IALuder 07-13-2005 10:25 PM

step 1 install fog lights.....

so i took my new bumper and cut were needed. install the fog lights. drilled the screw holes. following the step by step. its rather easy. plus self explanitory(sp?).

pics:

IALuder 07-13-2005 10:29 PM

step 2 take off bumpers....

easy as cake, if you have done it before. 20 mins and bam. you get this....

then i figure the bumper didnt come with bumper support. well i guess japanese dont car about safty at all. just look at the difference.

hell there bumper doesnt even have the place to mount the stire foam.

Mischief 07-13-2005 10:37 PM

ChrisCantSkate 07-14-2005 12:22 AM

IALuder 07-14-2005 01:31 AM

oh i will got tons more to upload. but ill get to it tommorow.

IALuder 07-14-2005 05:01 PM

step 3 finishing touches.....

after bumper is reinstalled. with JDM bumper support. which reduce my weight by 18lbs. WHOOO HOOO.

closer shot of the fogs with out covers. i still need screws for that part.

a close up for the JDM nostrils.

look how good my hood flushes.

IALuder 07-14-2005 05:06 PM

step 4 battery....

well i went from this POS acura battery. that took 3 cranks to turn over to this:

from this:

the optima red top in my car.

my battery tie down and hood come tommorow. so more pics tommorow after noon.

Mischief 07-14-2005 05:33 PM

while you're at it take that silly heat shield off your headers ;) but looking good ben, can't wait for the next update

ChrisCantSkate 07-15-2005 12:10 AM

heat shield keeps heat away from his short ram intake

ChrisCantSkate 07-15-2005 12:13 AM

ben.. you sure those are jdm nostrals and not the ones off the 92-93 preludes? ive never herd of a jdm nostrals and those look just like the 92-93 ones(one bar across, wehere as the newer 4th gen ludes had the double bar through em)

IALuder 07-15-2005 01:17 AM

yea, they are the same. but the usdm ones painted. these are just the moldings.

so i went and sepnt big bucks on just a name. but it was shinny. so here it is your tie down.

and one in the sun:

IALuder 07-15-2005 07:33 PM

Step 6 installing fog switch + relay.

the wiring was so fun. i got luckie actually got it right the first time.

had to take out the center console:

then figure what wire goes to what:

then install the JDM Switch:

the difference is the location of it. this one as you can goes behind the cup holder. the USDM swithc goes next to the hazard switch. plus the switch connectors and wire colors are different.

usdm connector:

plus the correct color to color wirng is:

red/yel to red/yel
black to red/green
red black to orange

now on to a question sence the work. how come i cant have them on with the head lights off?

IALuder 07-15-2005 09:18 PM

some night shots

i have a bad relay. ill get a new one on monday. but here some night shots of the fogs on.

IALuder 07-29-2005 09:53 PM

IALuder 08-04-2005 01:17 PM

well i dropped my stuff off to get painted. FRIDAY i get my shit back. hopefully have it on by saturday.

Mischief 08-04-2005 01:24 PM

red riding hood too or still waiting on a CF hood?

IALuder 08-04-2005 01:58 PM

CF comes either today or tommorow. according to Fiber image.

2000Pimpinex 08-04-2005 02:20 PM

Progress looks good. Keep us updated.

IALuder 08-04-2005 03:52 PM

well im going H23Vtec. i found a good H22a4 head. now i just got to think about all motor or boosting it. plus what tranny to use.

plus what pistons to use.
h22 piston = 10.1
h32 piston = 9.3

so wouldnt the 9.3 be better if i boost it?

IALuder 08-06-2005 08:57 PM

step 8 fender install

it took me all day. plus some scratched paint and cussing. broken knuckles.

i recommend never to do this. EVER.

AzCivic 08-06-2005 09:12 PM

why mess with the whole vtec head swap if you're gonna boost it?

IALuder 08-06-2005 10:52 PM

becuase of all the TQ the H23vtec creates.

here some night shots of the side markers.

AzCivic 08-06-2005 11:21 PM

what? max torque is gonna be about the same its higher end hp you're gaining from the head swap. if you're really gonna boost it then its really unneccesary.

IALuder 08-06-2005 11:25 PM

......have you seen the dynos from this hybrid?

the average is 190-200HP and 168-75TQ. plus i want to build something worth while. my H23 is junk.

AzCivic 08-07-2005 12:59 AM

show me a dyno w/ a stock h23 w/ a vtec head making 175 wheel torque and i'll paypal you a dollar.

all it needs is boost!

IALuder 08-07-2005 04:19 PM

i would if didnt have to resleeve and use forge pistons. damn them oil squirters making in hard to use a stock block.

IALuder 08-07-2005 06:09 PM

ebpda9 08-22-2005 02:40 PM
