My new 1993 Prelude SI =)

Hello all!
After 1 1/2 year of having my EX I finaly sold it ;( But I bought a 1993 Prelude SI with H23A2 Engine. What a difference!!!! ;)

Here comes the questions:
1) Which mods should I get first?

2)Short Shifter?
Is these one good?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1873955505

Thanks!

ChrisCantSkate 12-04-2002 09:28 PM

no they feel like crap, i have the DC one like that, theres a guy who's making true 4th gen short shifters for like 125 bucks i think.

Thanks.
Now, any recomendation for what mods should I begin?
My prelude is STOCK.

ChrisCantSkate 12-04-2002 10:05 PM

aem cold air intake is a good starting mod, then a quality cat back exaust

Promo2000 12-04-2002 10:53 PM

Is there a difference between an AEM Intake and a Generic one?
AEM on Ebay is like for $200 and others are like $50???
:paranoid:

AEM is tuned specifically for certain cars. I'd say its the best, with Injen right behind it. YOU GET WHAT U PAY FOR.

 I have one of those in my Accord. Definite improvement over a SSA, but its not a miracle cure.

ShEaNy 12-05-2002 01:21 AM

intake headers exhaust....a short shifter would help too...

So, a generic short shifter, like the one in the link would do the job?

It will do the job, but the true SS is definitely better. Just depends if you want to spend the money on it.

ChrisCantSkate 12-05-2002 06:49 PM

a adapter will change the angle your shifter cables are at, and put excessive wear on your syncros, i wana get rid of mine.... i'll put it that way.

What happens is that I dont have $1000 right now, I want to spend like $300 - $500. If I wasent short of money, I have a friend that imports Spoon Engines from Japan. ;)

Spoon doesn't make engines for Preludes...you're starting to sound like you've watched the Fast and the Furious a bit too much.

:banghead: WHO told you that? Spoon makes nothing engine wise for our cars. They have a thermostat for the H22, and that's it as far as engine mods.

Didnt know, Im a newbie with preludes im going to kick some ass today for the person who told me! :rambo:

Is these a good buy?
Eibach Springs
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1874030643
Or neuspeed? or????

And is it worth to spend $100+ for a DC sport strut bar? Or a generic strut would do the same?

Thanks!
Peace!

cantdrive55 12-07-2002 04:17 AM

That's a great price on those springs be careful though if you bid on them, it's a 30 dollar shipping fee, which is a bit steep. I would most CERTAINLY not drop 100+ bucks on a DC strut bar. The only thing DC is good for is headers and decorative pieces ie: battery tie, oil cap etc. The strut bars suck. A cheaper, far better bar is the Neuspeed. Or if you're like me and a Spoon addict, you could get the Spoon front and rear strut bars. I got mine for about 340 shipped for the both of them.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=1874364868

Thanks.

Quality. The springs you linked to are coilover sleeves which allow you to adjust the height of your car. I doubt they would last long at all. You often get what you pay for.

Promo2000 12-08-2002 10:35 PM

Thanks for the answer.. I'll go the for the Eibach

ChrisCantSkate 12-08-2002 11:36 PM

if you want coilovers (ability to change ride hight) look for ground control coilovers, they are made with eibach springs, thats what i have, and im happy with them

Promo2000 12-09-2002 06:40 AM

Im looking for better handling only..

ChrisCantSkate 12-09-2002 11:37 AM

i'd go with ground control coilovers and koni yellow shocks. i have ground controls and kyb adjustable shocks, and i LOVE my handling.
