norton anti-virus help

so i installed this maybe 6 months ago.. and my subscription has long run out and i just want it off my computer to stop waisting memory. its always running and not really doing shit, i have other programs doing the same. but i need the supervisor password, and either i dont remeber it or i didnt set it and dont know what it is. is there any other way i can delete this crap?

format c:

anyway you could delete it from your program files and use a registry cleaner just to remove the redundant registry entries, but your system might become unstable.

Symantec has a tool that will correct that issue. You just have to call their tech support line.

any chance you can boot to safe mode? it may still ask for a password, but its worth a shot.

short of trying password recovery, my next move would be to boot to a disc like this: http://www.nu2.nu/pebuilder/

live cd's like this become soooo useful. I have a ISO image of one i customized, if you're interested.
