Oil Catch can and 68mm TB

Installed my oil catch can and revised 68mm throttle body this weekend.

I am curious if there is anyone else out there who a) has an ITR, and b) uses the Holley 68mm TB.

I am having a problem with idle dwell, i.e. won't come back to idle when I release the gas, and I am not quite sure about what would induce this characteristic.

Any input would be appreciated.

Cheers.

I have now removed the replacement 68mm TB from Holley.

It appears that there is some fundamental design difference between the 2 which will not allow my idle to settle down between shifts and when I come to a stop...

Very puzzling because the moment I put the old one back on, this problem ceased to be a problem.

Kind of sad after paying so much money eh.

I think I will go SPOON TB, I like the conical design, should increase velocity.

Yes, it MAY improve velocity but it will not increase volume due to the venturi being the same size.

I believe that people have realized moderate gains with this piece, but not worth the money.

Pull yours and machine it yourself.

I did originally. Worked well.

The main reason I like the SPOON is because of the fact that it is a brand new TB complete with New TPS and MAP sensor, this would allow me to sell my old Type-R TBfor about the same amount I bought it for.

But I do agree with you on the Venturi part, I really do not understand why the didnt increase the venturi to say 68mm and then have it expand to 70mm at the inlet.

I believe it screws up the calibration on the stock map sensor. This would partly explain some of the problems I am having with the Holley 68mm TB.
