Modification to Help Keep Engine Bay Clean
My engine bay is always dirty. I can clean it and a day later its gritty again. What can be done to help keep it clean, besides not drive the car? Is there something I can put under the car to keep everything out???
|
i have no idea.  ;(
|
the first thin is not to drive in dusty areas.
|
your engine bay really gets dirty that fast??
Did you shoot any grease in there or rustproofing perhaps?? |
I clean it every once and a while but it just gets dirty really fast. I don't know how to fix the problem, maybe just don't drive the car.

if it's due to dust, then put a seal around the hood. a weather seal would do just fine, and it won't show. also when it rains, if you can pop the hood and dry it off, the park it somewhere where it won't get wet....prevents water spots and also stops the from the water from attracting the dust. besides that just don't drive on dirt roads, and if you have to drive slow while over dirt.......

Thanks for the help guys. I'll see what I can do about it!

I seems like it has always been there. Not so much at first but after I put the aem cai on it started getting really bad.

How would he go about doing that? If you put the "airflow back", wouldn't that mean taking out the CAI? Nobody wants to do that :) |
The only time I will put the stock air box back on is when I sell my car. And that won't be to far down the road.

I would rather clean it more often then take out the CAI....why else would you buy it if you weren't goin to use it?! -AZNinside |

Yeah, that's what I was trying to say  |
there is not much you can do about the dirt getting in there i mean look in the engine bay you probably see the ground, the point i am trying to make is that when you drive you kick up dirt in the engine bay and thats how it gets there. now if you put silicone or armor all on the hoses and things well the dirt adheres to that easier thats why it looks dirty.
