Could I beat a Ford Escort ZX2
OK my friend just bought a Ford Escort ZX2. I forget the exact year but Its between 98-00. Im almost positive they all have the same engine a 2.0 liter 16 valve. His is an automatic transmission. With no aftermarket parts. And he wants to race me. Here is what I have.
I have a 1994 Civic DX with an AEM short air intake. My question is will I be able to beat him? What do you guys think? Thanks |
humm those are preety quick..... well compared to a civic....i think it will be a good match... u arnt going to do it on the street are u?????????
should be a pretty nice match up!
well Ive beaten my ex gf and her focus zx3 auto
I do have a y8 with i/h/e so that might make a difference...but you should weigh a lot less than he does...and I mean a lot |
my old sentra that would hand my civic it's butt used to get tooled on by escort gt's...
i think if yall were racing for slips you'd be the one walking home thas jus my thinkin
in a dx you'll more than likely lose. oh well try anyway.
c'mmn its a ford. J/k....... You never know alot of the time it has to do with the driver i think, if you cant drive well/fast you cant woop someone. :luck: :thumbsup:
Thanks for your opinions guys. When the race finally happens I will let yall know how it turns out.
Good luck. My money would be on the ZX2. The 2's are a little faster than the ZX3s
im thinking he will beat you, unless he is trying to shift between gears and sucks at it
my money is on your a$$ being handed to you, but there are many factors. make sure you don't do it on at least on public roads.
That would be a tight race, but if I had to make a bet it would be on the Ford. It all depends who can drive there car. I wanna know what happends!

i think the zx2 is a automatic.....unless hes shiftin his automatic which i heard is useless. |
ZX2, I hate to admit it since I'm not sure how good of a driver you are. Take it on the track please.....
You = 100/100 2200 lbs.
Him = 130/130 2500 lbs. Pretty stinkin close. On a 1/4 mi, you should be within 5 mph trap speed (him a little higher). On a real track, your lighter weight would help in the corners, and I'll be your lap times would be a little better. Assuming 2 good drivers, of course. |
