JDM vs. USDM H22A

Can someone tell me the differences between the USDM and JDM H22? Other than the slight horsepower difference, is there anything else that makes the JDM more desireable than the USDM? Especially if you would do a complete rebuild with new cams, etc anyway?

Just wondering if it would be possible to save some of the headache of wiring issues, etc and go with a USDM instead of the JDM motor/tranny/ECU.

i don't thin kthere are many differences between the 2. i thinjk the jdm one is missing the egr valve, hence a different intake manifold

From my readings, it seems that the JDM motors are easier to get than the USDM and the JDMs seem to have lower miles to start with.

What kind of realistic, reliable power can I get from the H22 either NA or turbo'd. Would like to have more than 200hp, but still have the reliability that the stock motor has given with almost 255,000 miles on it. I would like to be in the power range of a new Acura TL (that way it would be easier to justify not getting a new car...) :)

I just wanted to double check what years of ludes had the H22.

I think the H22 came in the Prelude in OBD-1 configuration for '92-'95 and the OBD-II was through '00 (the last year for the Prelude, or was '01 the last year?).

I think that was the years. And I guess they say try to get a motor from a car that is same controls (OBD-I vs. OBD-II).

Jdm is obviously the best choice. I bought my last Japanese engine from http://www.usedjapanmotors.com/
